He's made a profit on fees. I think come the end of the season if he's taken an aging team destined for relegation and produced a young team sitting mid table premiership then I don't think there can be any doubt he's done a good job. Still a long way to go though.

Hes doing an excellent job there but its not right to say on limited funds. He was extremely fortunate to bring in upward of 70 million for 3 players including Sissoko and still be left with a squad full of reasonable players. He has sold others but spent over 100 million of bringing players in on top of a decent core.

I think the OP was ludicrously comparing this situation to Grayson.
 
They've done well grinding out the results so far, but been unconvincing tbh.


Unconvincing in what regard? Style of play? Possibly, but he's made Newcastle a hard team to beat there’s no denying that.


I don't know Sky have thought the general public deserve a MNF showing of Burnley v Newcastle, the two most unattractive playing sides in the league.
