I think I’ve only ever been really shocked by 2 films and they were Irreversible and A Serbian Film.

Any other disturbing films out there?

Aye this one always springs to mind. Disturbing in many ways but watching it as a young 'un I was expecting the 'cavalry' to arrive from the mainland and save him - that's how films are supposed to end. But they didn't. And he died. Horribly in a fire

Freaks - 1932. Rather disturbing and has stayed with me since I watched it late one night as a teen. Set in a circus with people who had genuine abnormalities. The ending/revenge was a shocker.
