Hales and Stokes

Glad to see this is the common view, I think once the sensationalism dies down, this is a fair reflection

I was a bit worried before I watched that, but unless there's anything pre the start of that video, there's no chance. If you wave a bottle in someone's face, you haven't got a leg to stand on.

All I would say is the police don't like people taking the law into their own hands, and he goes on after he stops

I agree with you, the CPS like to make a name for themselves though.

It's only right at the very end, even when it moves a bit along the pavement the other bloke is still coming forward. It's not like he's shoeing someone lying on the deck. The only trial here will be in the press.

Really really hope some high profile figures stick up for him, in particularly Botham.

Gets threatened with a bottle and reacts, if this was Johnny Nomark the perpetrator would be advised to let it go as he was the original aggressor. The only way anything will come of this would be because he is famous and this bloke can make a few quid.

Won’t matter whether the other lad wants to ‘press charges’ or not. There’s enough evidence in the video and probably in witnesses to see this to court. I doubt he’ll be going to the ashes.

Against who though?

As the lad with the bottle would be charged too.

Against Stokes, he’s the one who was arrested for alleged actual bodily harm and the person were talking about.

Was the other lad arrested? He could well be if not once the police have seen new evidence.

He'd have to be, he attacks someone with a bottle, he started it.

You can;t charge one and not the other.

I’m not charging anyone

In any event we’re not privy to the evidence before the police nor sufficiently experienced in deciding whether things are brought to court or not. Just setting out my hunch as to what I think will happen.

It's far less likely that the CPS will pursue it if the "victim" doesn't want it too. And if (as it looks like) he was threatening people with a glass bottle then there's no way this lad takes it any further.

Ha you know what I mean like, the police can't charge one and not the other, well they shouldn't

If they can get him on the plane, it could unite the side.

Its going to be dramatic

I can't see him making the series tbh. Almost certain he'll lose vice captaincy
Forgetting about charges and court cases for a minute, the ECB will have to decide how much they want to win this series. Don't think we have much chance anyway but without a talismanic figure like Stokes, with his ability and presence on the field, we may as well just not bother and send the urn via recorded delivery to CA headquarters.

If can legally play, he will play, he is more important than even Root

Looking at that you can see the lad has a bottle and tries to clip one of them round the back of the head. The lad with the bottle got what he deserved imo but Stokes looks he took it too far as well.

Class punches though and no way would I want a dig off him!

We'll see what happens but I don't think we'll see him over there

Agree he's our most important player going there. Aside from his obvious talent with the bat when he gets into rhythm with the ball he's probably the quickest bowler we'll have

Really? Why?

He will go like, even if it goes to trial. It won't be for a long while after the series is over.

The video looks awful and the ECB have been strict in the past. We'll see what happens in the couple of days anyway

Honestly, there is absolutely no way they won't take him if they can. It wouldn't even be up for discussion.
