I'm concerned about being relegated again but no overly concerned. We can easily get out of it.
The club is an utter shambles and will take serous money and the right personnel to sort it out, we have neither.
It's mentioned that both Huddersfield and Brighton both got promoted not spending a great deal but there weren't in the same mess as we are.
Short needs to leave asap but we all know that.

I don't think we're finished - look at Southampton as an example of how you can go down to the third tier and come back.
We're quite clearly a club with the infrastructure and weight of (potential) backing that will come back to the top end of this division and most likely compete in the top tier again.
It will take time (years) clearly.
A great start would be having an owner & leadership that actually wanted to be here, likewise for the squad. I have next to no intention of going to the ticket office and parting with money to back a club who effectively isn't committed to itself.
Oh what a dream something like the Drumaville consortium would be right about now. That came to pass, and so will this downturn.

I've been away all weekend. Was out for food when we were playing yesterday. My mate was getting updates on an apple watch and I didn't feel a flicker of emotion when they scored or we scored. If it wasn't for the apple watch, I doubt I'd know the score 24 hours later.

He's of those fans who treat the club like a cult mate. We have far too many of them.

Like what? We had a c couple of good season, but we have been also rans for almost my entire lifetime and I am pushing 40.
So have Huddersfield, West Brom, Stoke...

We have a big stadium, big fan base which was top 6 in the Prem I believe and the academy. Sunderland does not deserve to be where it is, it's only because of the owner not taking us in the right direction unfortunately. It's a shame to see us as we are mainly because I know it's not going to turn around to where we should be in a few years, it will take a very long time.

Agree in part that Short hasn't helped but I think its also fair to say that the club has been in decline for years. For those of us oldies who can remember the Era of Cowie And Batey fighting over the club, McMemnemy, etc, the club has been pulled apart by lack of proper investment and lack of planning and ambition for many years. Am surprised that so many people, i.e.e the fans, have kept faith with the club and havnt walked until watching the dross over the last couple of years. Heart breaking.
