Some managers are firefighters, some take a little longer to get their methods across. It’s the same reason how Allardyce is revered on here but, barring our usual collapse in his first home game, his record in his opening 10 games was poor

Oh and it’s not as if the circumstances were exactly the same. For example Di Canio needed far less points for survival than Benitez did. Although Advocaat got more admittedly.

Okay then, hypothetically Rafa Benitez (in an alternate universe where he has been out of work since Real) wants the Sunderland job tomorrow. Would you take him over Grayson?

I’m putting that bit in brackets in to alleviate any ‘it would be funny for the mag meltdown lol’ scenario.

Oh give over man. If you think we're now going to buy that Grayson is better than Benitez was a joke all along then you must think we are as daft as you sound right now. In the main football fans are tribalistic idiots so what you read on the likes of this place are their real thoughts. So there are plenty of people on here who genuinely believed that Grayson is better than Benitez. Those that took the alternative view would have either not joined in or couched their comments in smileys etc. One thing is for certain, had we been struggling(and that may well be the case in the near future) and you lot were walking this league you'd all be piling in on it.

So what else are we not to believe? The threads about Dawn Thewlis, the north east press being the magedia and all the other paranoid shit that appears on here regularly?

In different circumstances probably Benitez, but in our predicament I truthfully would opt for Grayson

Not staggering at all, maybe I will be proved wrong with Grayson, but I will know better farther into the season . As for Benitez it will always remain hypothetical

Lowest we can drop to will be 9th, but this thread will be full of "told you Benitez is crap, can't even beat Brighton", and proof that some people on here would rather have ReleGrayson as manager.

The schadenfreude that will be prevalent on here tomorrow as some sort of vindication for backing Grayson, and former manager Hughton defeating Newcastle will be taken as some sort of act of retribution towards nufc and its support for sacking him.

Who said it was a joke can you post all the people on here that said Grayson is a better manager. Are we talking a handful more than a dozen or thousands
