I've been going since the early 80's and there has always been as much chanting against them as for us, it's the same at most clubs.

This chant is odd for numerous reasons least off all the following:

1. It's a direct rip off of Man Utd's chant for George Best. This made sense because A. He's passed away and B. He was a reknowned heavy drinker/ loved a night out.

2. Why wait until Cattermole is dead when you could go out for a drink with him now? Although I could think of millions of other people I'd rather go on the piss with before choosing Cattermole.

3. Our fans believe there is still a "rotten core" at the club of which you'd assume rightly or wrongly Cattermole is part of. After all Catts is usually pictured with a drink and was arrested in Newcastle with Bendtner and accused of damaging parked cars. If fans detest this sort of behaviour so much, why sing about it? I guess it's only an issue at certain times.

It's quite possibly the worst chant ever created (copied). Probs started by the same lads that brought us such classics like the Rangers had no money nor even a ball rip. Shite.

I nearly posted a very similar thing yesterday. Friendly rivalry and ribbing and mickey taking is fine in my book, but so many people just seem to have actual hatred for Newcastle supporters who are just people who happen to support another side. There is so much hatred on this planet, we don't need to add any more senseless ill will over a few people kicking a ball around a pitch.
 
To be fair, this board does seem to have an unusually high number of posters who support teams other than Sunderland for whatever reason...

Get over yourself. The only identity the mags have is fat knackers (or fat slags) that are never seen out of their manky replica shirt and no fucker can understand. If they're not pissed and eating a greggs, they're moaning about a load of shite.

Not quite sure what point you are referring to as you quote so many posts. However, what is blindingly obvious is your hatred towards anything Newcastle related. If you are not a school kid then I seriously advise you to grow up.

Shearer played for the Toon about 50 years ago! I don't recall ANY other team so obsessed about an oppostion/rival player. Weird as owt!
