SMB Worst Car you've owned

Very similar. Mine was an old style Y reg (1982) Green Ford Fiesta 1.0 that turned out to be two Ford Fiestas welded together. It also had a leaky footwell and mushrooms growing in the carpet. A bugger to start at times but it was my first car so I guess it was a canny learning experience.

Think mine had a bit of a dodgey pasts also, and a manual choke:eek:

Had to be my Hillman Avenger. First car I ever owned.
Sounds like a superhero!

Saab 95. Possibly the only Saab that wasn't bulletproof. It was a diesel anarl. The fuel of Satan himself. Back on petrol now.

:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Also had a Ford Fiesta as a first car that leaked in the footwells. It had a manual choke as well. That'll sort the old 'uns from the young 'un

Unless you aired it off properly when it eventually dried out it bloody stunk(the car):eek:

Loved the manual choke on my fiesta. Had to be millimetre perfect or the engine would cut out every time I put the clutch down :lol:

MK V Golf. Nice to drive but had loads of problems with it. For every problem it had I found an Internet article pointing out it was a common issue with MK Vs. So much for their supposed reliability.

A reg MG Metro. The exhaust fell every few hundred miles (kept some gloves in the boot so I could pick it up) and rusted from the front wings until one day there was nothing left at all

Every shit car I've had has been shit because it was old and cost much less than it should have.

Had a Honda HRV last year that was a right clip when I bought it.

Cleaned it up and noticed on closer inspection the bonnet had been hand-resprayed a much more metallic silver than the rest of the car but had originally been black. My mate also found the radiator from an automatic had been fitted, so the front end had obviously been bashed up at some point.

The valves had gone on every wheel so they kept going flat.

The driver's side wheel bearings were shot so I had the hub replaced and with the new found silence it was clear the back two were on their way out as well.

Someone had removed the prop shaft, turning it from 4WD to FWD, making it drive like shit.

I really wanted to like it but all I got out of it was lessons in what not to do when you buy a car.
