Grayson Out

He's done pretty good business and has a squad that should be comfortably capable of top half (with an outside chance of a play off push if we get a following wind). Hes currently failing to get a tune out of them and spends far too much time faffing with formations. Just pick one and let things settle before getting too clever, man.

If results and toothless displays continue as bad then he should be questioned. Good managers make the best of bad situations, he's doing shite thus far.

Agree with the OP. Moyes played a shit had badly and his recent interview showed that Bain and Short aren't exactly honest when it comes to budgets etc when interviewing for a new manager. Grayson was told he wouldn't have the biggest budget but I bet he didn't expect a club the size of Sunderland to have the lowest net spend in the championship. He knew we needed another striker in and knows where we need to improve. His emphasis on centre backs (Wilson, Browning), wide and attacking midfielders (McManaman, Williams, McGeady) and forwards (Grabban, Vaughan) shows that he obviously knows where we are weak. Obviously if we'd managed to get McCormack done then things may look a bit brighter but I think Bruce knew what he was doing by waiting so long to say no.

Either way, no matter what happens at this club we won't be anywhere near consolodating ourselves in the top flight or even challenging to get there without Short leaving the club.

Spot on. Very well put.

Yes well that's what I'm concerned about. That a lot of people will turn on the manager with a few more bad results. With the situation we're in, what's the point?
Seems to happen faster and faster these days.....gone are the days when a Fergus on wold be allowed the grace period he received at man United...these days a fast start is essential otherwise the vultures start circling. Another couple of losses and I can't see much hope for the gut to be honest. ..rightly or wrongly. Only thing that would save him would be chairan apathy.

Typical the only time we don't sack a manager we get relegated

This is close to the truth
