Stick to the skunk forum where you belong.

Ignorant of what has gone before? Have you forgotten just last season the same things were being said "we can't keep sacking managers" so we stuck with one who clearly didn't have a clue when if we had acted we may have stood a chance. We need to learn from that mistake - if we don't pick up in the next few games, Grayson will have to go IMO. We may be shit, but I still believe with the right man in charge we are not that shit to fall staight through this division.

Spot on.

I agree Short needs to go but to say we're a lost cause until then is ridiculous. A decent manager can get this team winning games in this division.

Agreed.

And he's off again

He's carrying on Moyes dreadful reign from last season with no sign or letting up. I don't think the club can risk much further damage by keeping him here.

At least he's gone and the next manager has been given the time to sort things out ... Oh wait
Moyes was given plenty of time last season "to sort things out" and look how that ended.

Grayson is underperforming and if he doesn't turn it round soon, his position needs to be reviewed. We can't make the same mistake that we did last season when we thought an under performing manager would magically "sort things out" if he was given "time".

My "Yank mate" :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I've already said he's presided over an absolute clusterfuck, no longer cares and that I wouldn't put it past him to wind the club up.

But yeah, he's my "mate".

Saturday.......

Grayson was insistent in his press conference last week that those who had suggested bringing in a striker was the minimum that Sunderland must achieve in the market were incorrect. "Everyone gets carried away that everyone wants a centre forward, the finished article...I didn't feel it was a necessity. Everyone else was talking like it was."

Tuesday.....

Grayson said: “It looks like Lewis tweaked his hamstring. We will see the severity of it this morning. Of course it would be a blow because he is a good player, we are a little bit short in those numbers.

Ffs....

I think Browning has defended well so far this season, even last night he had a good game defensively apart from his massive howler. He is awful with the ball at his feet mind

How did you set up under Grayson and who were your strikers? I think 4-5-1 is the best fit for us last night but we aren't going to score enough goals with Grabban and / or Vaughan and neither of them holds the ball up well enough. I have no idea why we signed both of them when we are crying out for a target man type striker

He pretty much always played with a target man at PNE. We had Kevin Davies in League 1 with Garner who was also very physical. Hugill was one of his favourites last season too, another big striker. SG usually always has a physical presence up top.

He regularly changed formation. 3-5-2 (more like 5 at the back really) was a favourite of his away from home. 4-4-2 with a big/little striker and two good crossers of the ball out wide probably his favourite at home.

He tried 4-5-1/4-3-3 at times but it didn't seem to work for us. It resulted in a more tippy/tappy style which the squad wasn't suited to under him. Under SG we were better at getting in people's faces, being physical, getting crosses into the box and hitting teams on the break.

As I said before though, we regularly started season's slowly under SG, partly because it usually took him a bit longer than expected to find the right system/balance, but one he'd found it we'd be pretty solid and score a few goals too, even if it was still pretty dull to watch at times.

Who do you want to replace him? Genuine question.

It doesn't make a difference who I want. I'm not paid to appoint a manager.

It's up to the club to read the signs, realise Grayson is not up to it and find a suitable replacement. Their search should not be restricted to the domestic leagues.
