Just shout if you want me to explain why 'minimum number of points to survive' is different for the team which finished 18th and the team which finishes 17th.

You only have to better in 18th to survive. Team in 18th has 34 points and a -20 goal difference, team in 17th has 40 points and a +10 goal difference.

You only need 34 points and a -19 goal difference to survive. and not 40 points and a +11 goal difference

I don't think I can explain it any simpler.

If the team in 17th has 40 points +10gd then you have to have more than that or you'll be below them in 18th, 19th, or 20th.

But in that case the team in 17th wouldn't be the team in 17th they'd be the team in 18th

Nah, we actually got to win relegation and the majority of our games the season after.

It was enjoyable. A lot more than this season probably will be.
