****Carlise V Sunderland Match Thead****

Just got in after an undercover mission at other end of same stand as Sunderland fans.

I thought we looked lazy and uninterested. When we looked to play football on the ground we were OK. But got drawn into too much head tennis.

Ruiter was good.
Khasri was lazy.

No movement from whole team. Carlisle actually played some decent football on the deck.

Mcgeady made a difference when he came on.

I was right next to the penalty claim at end and it looked like 2 penalties to me. Kone had 3 attempts to take him out.

Anyway, we won. That's the main thing for now.

Then we can get back to saying how shite we are against Barnsley.

What a struggle that was. Ruitter looks better than steele, oshea can still do a job for us and we looked a bit better when Kone and Mcgeady came On, but that was poor. Off the ball especially, we leave far too much space, let players just walk off the back of us and dint work back. Papy was an absolute embarrasment, Matthews not much better. Gibson can knock a ball about at times, but his lack of mobility and to look to play forward, is terrible. Ndong was poor on the ball and Khazri, well to say he didn't look interested is being fait to him. He couldn't have cared less what was going on around him. Very lucky to win there.
This off the ball buisness is starting to worry me, obviously Grayson is happy for the opposition to have the ball the majority of the time. Its a tactic that pisses me off tbh. I wanted a manager that would have his players get in people's faces, press the opposition at every opportunity. This tactic is gonna be f***ing painful to watch at home.

Don't worry we're used to it- we've had barely any posession in about 3 years.

Yet we give away more free kicks every game. Why is that? 17-9 against Carlisle and similar against Leeds and Bury.

Would play him instead of Vaughan TBH. Grabbon up top with 2 supporting

Ruiter or Steele? It's a crucial position.

Thing is mate, we let them have the ball, but we're all over the place. The space we leave is frightening. No one tracks runners and we're unorganised. That's a recipe for disaster if we are trying to sit back.

I think i was sitting directly opposite you in the other end of the ground.
I thought Carlisle looked the better team.
They hit the post and also had another great chance which hit Ruiters legs.
I actually have concerns of Ruiter, i found him stuck to his line on three occasions and twice managed to kick the ball out of play before reaching the half way line (on a shourt pitch), probably the best of a bad bunch.
I thought the 2nd penalty shout was more nailed on than the first so we got away with one.

I can confirm that I got up at 4.45 to check the draw for the next round. I don't have a great deal to report.
