promotion

It's a difficult one. I don't think promotion straight away would necessarily help us as we need to rebuild and would just go straight back to struggling.

Then again, not going up straight away we'd lose the prem money and parachute payments go down so we would lose out there.

What a stupid question, of course we want it.

The money is mental in the Prem and you can't afford too many seasons missing out on it.

I'd rather be a yoyo club than one stagnating in the Championship.

IF (big if) we do go up, then we just need to change our philosophy in the transfer market and finally try to kick on.
This every season out of the prem it will get harder and harder to get back just look at Leeds, Forest, Shef Wed etc etc...

We have all seen that, although this league is dubbed the hardest to get out of, is absolutely shite. Derby were awful, Norwich couldn't score and Villa and Boro have both underwhelmed in their opening two games. If we spent a bit money once Kones and Khazri goes we could win this league but it all depends on Short and his 'ambition'.

Play offs at best IMO

Whilst I agree with your general point, Wolves look like they're going to win it comfortably at this stage.

We've played 2 games for Christ's sake, we might be less worse by a long way than we were last season. If we happen to be there or thereabouts come the end of it all are you seriously asking if we would rather not thank you very much can we wait for the next one? Unbelievable, un-f***ing-be-f***ing-lieveable.

I think we'll find out more about how good they are once they've played Hull (away) and Cardiff this week as both of them have started well.

The main thing about this league is just the unpredictable nature of it.

Daft question really, but understandable.

What we want and are trying to do is build a young hungry team who will give 100% every week and play with skill enthusiasm and energy. In doing this we also want our running costs to be within the limits the club can afford without carrying huge debt and to do this we need to operate smartly in the transfer market.

Promotion is the aim but if it came we need to continue with these principles first and foremost and accept relegation as being a possibility and if it meant we yo yod for a few years we would actually be gaining strength as a club during this period.

We should never go back to hiring the highly paid mercenaries who have already been rejected by the richer clubs and are only really willing to join us to spend a few years in cruise control.

This has been our problem for years buying players on the way down instead of players on the up.
