Have Brigton and Huddersield really improved their squads that much that they've now over taken Newcastle in terms of quality?

Huddersfield finisehd 13points worse off than Newcastle and will finish bottom of the league.

I would say Hughton is a better manager to have when you are fighting to survive. I can honestly see Huddersfield doing a Blackpool, flying start and it tapers off and they end up going down

Aye their an unknow quantity so you could be right about the decent start.

A quick look at Benitez' transfer history throws up a lot of these type of signings. Average Spanish players to fill the squad but never really seem to contribute much.

At present they're dependent on a solid enough defence, probably Lascelles and the new lad and hoping Shelvey performs along with Gayle/Ritchie to get them enough points.

There aren't three worse teams than them in the Premier League
Their defence was like a sieve in the c'ship.
As for shelvey ???
He barely coped last time in the premier league.
Long hard season for all 3 newly promoted clubs methinks.

pretty sure this was the lad MON was looking at for us when he turned up for a real madrid b team game all those ago

Agreed, Shelvey has barely scored a goal or created a chance in the premier league

i agree, hughton is a very pragmatic manager, Rafa is an emotional wreck

They had the joint best defence (with Brighton) last year mind... 40 goals conceded.

I don't think defending is particularly good in the championship mind, but neither is the attacking play...

We'll be absolutely fine under Rafa with the squad we have, no way we'll be getting relegated think Le Tiss has it right below mid table finish around 12-13th fairly comfortable, once we get PL money then we can push on more

how many proven strikers and defenders do you have

They've had as bad a summer as us in the transfer market, signed nothing but shite
