Stadium Tour.

Well this goes to show that literally ahh thread can take a turn doesn't it!
For anyone interested it was actually quite decent and the bairns really enjoyed it. Press a little button when walking through tunnel and Prokofiev comes on which is a nice touch. All the Celtic tactics were still in away changing rooms on walls as well. Players lounge was pretty basic as well which was surprising.
One thing that did surprise me was all the pictures that Keane insisted on having on walls as players walked into pitch have been removed and just red and white boards now. Thought that was a nice touch that Keane introduced.
Well worth it if got little uns interested in Sunderland.

Probably because they'll need updating. When I played at the SoL in may, half the player pics are irrelevant now cos Kirchhoff, Defoe and Borini were some of them, obviously you wouldn't have them up now.

I got that but don't see why the ones of our achievements, lifting trophies etc have been taken down as they are timeless. I'm sure they'll have something lined up though.

Starting arguments on a jardine thread with no contribution... how predictable.
Are you suggesting rivs is doing something he himself has had a go at others for doing? A hypocrite maybe? ;)

Didn't know that tbh, thought you just meant the players

I did the Barca tour years ago. When we were in the Presidents box the guide pointed out a feller helping the TV crews set up the little railway track thing for those little cameras that hair up and down the touch line. Then he shouted down to him to give us a wave which he did with a big Ola and Hello. Twas Pep Guardiolas who was a youth coach there at the time........helping set up the TV stuff!

No mate there's nothing now just the red and white boards. Think the guide said they'd be sitting something out in terms of photos but was surprised the ones with our successes had been taken down.
Didn't get taken into trophy room either come to think of it.

I hope you didn't sign anything whilst you were there. You could be playing on Friday.
If they're after a big target man in the Thomas Hauser mould I'm all theirs!

The club should be reminding the players of our glorious past. Seems the powers that be are f***ing clueless.

I took my dad when he was alive. He was an Accrington fan with limited mobility but he loved it.
I've a 'soft spot' for Accrington , ever since we 'almost moved there'.
Gotta be honest - i've been to Boro's and Sunderland's - the SOL tour was much more informative and 'indepth' than the Riverside one.
Canny bit of 'crack' too - after it came to light(pardon the pun) that i'm Boro.

I went a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed it , was great to see in the changing rooms and all the areas that are usually off limits to fans.

Always fancied doing it but guess I'm saving it now till my lad starts (hopefully) taking an interest.

You almost moved to Accrington? People move from Accy not to it but the club is friendly and I look out for them cos they were my dad's team

I've done the Bayern Munich one at the Allianz , that is impressive! They line you up in two teams in the tunnel and play the Champions League music when you walk out! Trophy room is massive as well , worth doing if you are ever in Munich.

Been to Munich twice and the Kunstpark is all I remember

Iirc I've done auld Wembley, new SAFC, Barca, Valencia, Real & Atletico Madrid, Depor and the Paris one where the WC final was played, not sure if PSG play there or not? I'd do more when away but while Mrs Raff is ok going to a forrin game every now and then she draws the line at stadium tours. I wonder why?
The Spanish ones are a bit misleading as they're full of trophies from other sports and preseason friendlies. I'd recommend doing the Atletico one before the Real one as it obviously pales in comparison.
When I did the Depor one Twas preseason and they had set up bikes behind the goal in the shade and they were all cycling away with coaches watching ower them with clipboards! They were on the verge of going under so everything in the clubs hop was reduced by 75% to get some money in ower the close season. A bunch of people in suits and clipboards with cameras were being shown around separately from us which we thought must be the Spanish speaking tour but the kid told us they were the estate agent and tax office types evaluating the stadiums worth if the worst came to the worst!

SAFCs isn't what it could be As MBH on here has pointed out he has dozens of pics of trophy laden SAFC boardrooms from the past......the trophies have all disappeared ower the years.

PS does the Coliseum in Rome count?

Been 4 times so far me , love the place.
Munich or the Kunstpark?
