Mags goading us about cheesy chips?

In the late 80's I'm pretty sure you couldn't get cheesy chips in all the take aways anywhere except Sunderland. I'm from Durham and I remember noticing it when I had a night out in Sunderland. They were everywhere. Never saw them in Newcastle or anywhere else. It's like Boro is known for its Parmos.

The mags still go on about it but you can now get cheesy chips in any take away through there. Sunderland's finest export (apart from Sykes' pop).

And the blue pop thing is because Villa Sift Drinks (based in Southwick) did a blue raspberry pop which was nice but not as good as any of the pop made by Sykes' of Ryhope.
Nar man it's not. It's all meant to be taking the piss out of our scent. Same as whees keys are these keys.

They reckon we say cheysey chips and blew pop.

They sell it in Nicaragua, Cheesy chips and gravy, it sounds wrong but is a lush stodgy comfort food
Loads of people have that in Carlisle too, I was there for a night out with customers and at the end of the night cheese, chips and gravy was the choice of 90% of the people in the queue, with a sausage if they were particularly ravenous.

First time I saw them was in Newcastle. I belief the hilarity for them is because they can do their Mackem accent when they say it. It's their modern day 'weez keys' if you will.

Top bantz.

Just like the keys thing utter shite banter like, I still don't get either as many said cheesy chips can be had everywhere in the uk and I don't think I've ever said weyez apart from taking the piss out of the chant and I'm a common as fuck suddicker.

It's the same joke man. Nowt to do with eating cheesy chips. It's how they think we say it.

Cheesy Chips are f***ing lersh.

It's something said by people so thick they can't think of anything funny but because they're so desperate to say anything they shout that.

Bit like a stand up comedian who just swears indiscriminately when there jokes are shit.
