Oh aye... I remember it really took the gloss off the occasion, sitting in Nou Camp, feeling like we shouldn't be there after only finishing 2nd in the Premier League. :lol:

But yet you won the sum total of bot bloody all, I enjoyed pre seasons in Dublin and Amsterdam, the tournament, the competition, unless you win so what.

My earlier point was that at least we had a go, showed some ambition. The highlight of your last 40 years is two 7th place finishes.

When you say Southampton didn't compete, what season do you mean? They played in the 69-70 fairs cup.
