Benitez Future In Doubt Over Failure to Secure Key Signings

You did limp to promotion.

If you think a jan transfer window is the same as a summer window it just shows how clueless you are.

Di Matteo had done damage there will be players he doesnt want like McCormack who he cant shift due to ffp. Its hillarious you use Villa as an argument because Di Matteo was sacked for having them nowhere near promotion so it shows everyone but NUFC fans think for that kind of outlay in that league teams should easily be promoted.

In what world did we limp to promotion?

Benitez got us promoted though, if he spent that much and didn't he should have been sacked. He got us promoted as champions too, by the way.

You should have a word with Barcelona, Arsenal and Roma among others, all who have them listed as major honours.

Clubs will list anything as major honours man ..... Barcelona have the Pyrenees Cup on their role of honour with the Fair Cup, as they call it.

Newcastle have the Texaco Cup & Anglo-Italian Cup in their list of greatest achievements.

The Fairs Cup comes under the Charity Shield win against the Cobblers over 100 years ago

Keep buying players like Manquillo and I will live in hope ;).
They said the same of Daryl Murphy. Then they said we wouldn't be able to sell him. Then they said we'd not get anywhere near what we spent on him.

They seem to get a lot of things wrong.

Benfica reached the quarters after having a bye in the previous round as well.

Just checked, I knew there was a specific reason that year, thought it was political.

" The 1968–69 season of the club tournament was won by , who beat 4–1 in the , giving Milan its first European Cup title since 1963, and its second overall.

A number of clubs withdrew from the first two rounds when paired up all of the Eastern European clubs against one another."

Last season's windows will have a direct and unquestionable effect on this season.
In so much as they provide the bones of the future squads, sure. But the players bought for the Championship squad are likely to be shown the door. So Benitez was signing Murphy for the Premier League, he was bought to do a job, a job he did, and now we've sold him for £2m to Nottingham Forest.

It makes sense, if you're able, to rebuild your squad to meet the demands of the Championship. Guarantee your promotion and deal with the problems of a Championship squad afterwards.

Why don't our lads stop replying to the fish and other mugpies then the mags can talk to each other or themselves like the little childish obsessed deluded geordies they are? or even better the admins delete the thread;)

You lost 13 games. You limped to promotion.

Not in the league we didn't.

We also finished the season with 94pts, 19pts clear of more 7th and more than the winners of the 15/16, 14/15, 12/13, 11/12, 10/11, 08/09, 07/08, 06/07 seasons. Only Leicester (13/14) and Newcastle United (09/10) have registered more points in the last 10 seasons.

Tell me again how we "limped" to promotion?

The chronicle were just saying all 4 signings were specific personal targets of the waiter, we've also heard how great these 4 players are going to be too. Is the waiter going to spit his dummy on a weekly basis now.
Looks like it, thing is while he's doing this there is a possibility players will hesitate signing not knowing if he's going to be there. He's doing nobody any favours but of course it's not his fault, none of it

Haha me too,I'm too easily pleased me:lol::lol:.
Me anarl

You spent the record total for a promoted side. Lost 13 games and were set to finish 2nd till the last ten minutes of the season. You limped to promotion.
