Possibly but alongside finishing 3rd, 6th then 2nd established us as one of the more attractive clubs in the division whereas now we're merely a beige one of the 13 that are relatively all swimming in the same amount of money. When that is the case location takes over massively.
Like I said it certainly gave you's a bit of leg up but the financial playing field is far more than level now on top flight than it ever has been. Look at money Bournemouth can throw around now and I'd guess players would rather be down that end than up here so we are really up against it.

The implication was that being close to family was the only reason Benitez is at Newcastle. I said that claiming that was a new one.

Everything else is up in your head.

"It seems he is using them to just stay close to his family."

It was a 13 word post but you, as always, read whatever you want into what people say ...... 'you implied' .... 'you suggested' ...... 'it comes across as'.

How on earth can his family be the only reason ...... being out of work would be obvious, as would managing in the PL again, or being paid a fortune, etc etc etc.

It's a football forum, not Crown Court, it's not necessary to list every single possible reason why Benitez went to Newcastle.

Otherwise everyone would end up with endless, page long, posts that no one reads ....... like yours

Which name will be the answer to an online trivia quiz in 10yrs to stump f***ing everyone?

You seem to reply to a lot of posts you don't read.

That's basically exactly what I said in the post you quoted so we agree.

And it will only get worse.

Newcastle supporters often believe that their city will be a draw, for players, because there are lots of bars and a drinking 'party' culture.

The Metro Centre, the Quayside market, Spanish City

In reality the NE has very little to attract players and even less to attract decent owners.

Ashley & Short have both tried to sell their clubs and failed.

Players come here because of money, playing time or as a stepping stone ....... the sooner supporters, of both clubs, realise that the more realistic they'll be.

Winning a trophy will be by a mixture of a collection of players clicking at the right time and good luck, as happened at Leicester.

There will never be any 'pushing on', joining the top teams or 'establishing' either club.

Those days have passed the NE by and will never return.

You seem to reply to a lot of posts you don't read.

I couldn't avoid that because you've been dragging a tiny insignificant point over page after page.

Sad but unfortunately very true.

when will the Rafa wankathon end? When he takes them down again? Gets knocked out the cups early on? Seriously can't be happy with paying over the odds for "boyhood fan" Murphy and a player who failed on loan at us? Gift that keeps on giving there are.
