He's been a manager for 4 clubs and got them all promoted - doesn't matter what league you are in thats pretty impressive stuff. You are being very unfair on Grayson.

League 1 promotions....never finished higher than 7th in the championship

By that thought process Neil Warnock is far far better

It's not unconstructive just because I don't agree with your opinion and because I cannot name an alternative that fits into your parameters (parameters which are actually unknown to us) to suit your argument.

I'm simply pointing out he's bang average and his career record shows it. Just because you're so desperate in haste for us to sign a striker you're willing to accept any striker.

My 'unconstructive' opinion, which is actually fact is that he's a 1 in 3 to 1 in 4 goalscorer at this level and another fact is his career has been blighted with injuries. My opinion is that unless we can go out and sign a good alternative on loan and spend on a quality first choice too, I'd rather leave well alone than tying us down to someone with a career record and injury record as patchy as Vaughan's.

Now how the fuck is that not constructive?

Because football doesnt work like that. How did Chris Woods record look like before leeds signed him? It was worse than Vaughans.

Its ironic you think its because I dont agree with you when in fact you have a problem with me not going with your view.

Twice he's scored 10 or more Championship goals over a season. He once played 30 Championship games and scored 9, 26 and scored 7 and 15 and scored 0.

I've put his record up and it's bang average. If he was that good why did he have to drop down to Bury?

You can't get out of the fact he's bang average and his record which shows it even at Championship level is iffy by asking who else I'd sign for the same fee man  I'm not in contact with agents and clubs so I have no idea who is and who isn't available nor what we have available in terms of fee or in terms of wages if it was for an out of contract player. You have no idea he's even available for that fee ffs.
Well said.
I'd say he was worse than bang average. We should surely be aiming higher than this.
We've a pot load of cash from Pickford sale and PL payments so it's a bad job if we can't attract better.

Wood is still only 25 and on the up. Vaughan is 28 and in decline. Poor comparison.

Jordan still desperate to come, clubs now both in negotiations. Jordan has been made aware Sunderland will be looking for 4 new forwards and that he can't be guaranteed first team football this season, but he's very confident in his own ability.
I'm not believing anything anymore, I will wait for news. No skin off your nose and nowt against you, but I'm still hurting from my last break up

Chris Woods record at WBA where he was in and out first season was poor but he was about 17/18.

Including that and ignoring his time in League One (8 goals in 29 games) which is around the rate Vaughan scored at in the Championship on average, he had a host of loans scoring 9 in 23, 3 in 19, 11 in 19, 9 in 20, 4 in 26, 13 in 36 and then 27 in 44 (league games at Championship level only).

To Vaughan's 41 goals in 141 games in the Championship, Wood has 220 Championship games and 77 goals. Vaughan is also about three years four months older.

Seriously what on earth are you on about?

Why would you also ask about Woods record on signing for Leeds in 2015 when he was 23 going on 24 and had mainly had a load of loans, ignoring that even then he was scoring a similar rate to Vaughan usually playing less games?

At the time Woods signed his record was poor. He had only scored over ten goals once and that was when he was 19. He then didnt develop and had poor seasons by your book.

Then his firsr season at leeds he only got 13 which is average again your words not mine. He then got 27 goals last season nothing from when leeds signed him suggested he would do this.

Vaughan is only 3 years older hes hardly a lot more senior Woods is 26 in december. Theres no excuse why Vaughan can hit his highest tally next season.

This is just wishful thinking man, he's nearly 29 and plays for f***ing Bury

Roughly same age as Anichebe and he's atrocious too yet was lauded on here after a purple streak of 2 games

There's a reason that's the case

Same can be said for Chris Woods. Il judge him after ten games not based on wikipedia stats.

Plenty of strikers have done better in the twilight part of their career.
