Twice he's scored 10 or more Championship goals over a season. He once played 30 Championship games and scored 9, 26 and scored 7 and 15 and scored 0.

I've put his record up and it's bang average. If he was that good why did he have to drop down to Bury?

You can't get out of the fact he's bang average and his record which shows it even at Championship level is iffy by asking who else I'd sign for the same fee man  I'm not in contact with agents and clubs so I have no idea who is and who isn't available. You have no idea he's even available for that fee ffs.
Once lauded by Everton right? when was that? 5 years ago?

That's him yeah. Left Everton in 2011 after they'd loaned him out for a bit and give him a few games and it was clear he was never going to reach the level they'd predicted after his injuries.

I wouldn't be totally against the signing as back up, but the way some are justifying such a bang average record as if he's the only forward available is absolutely bizarre.

Jordan still desperate to come, clubs now both in negotiations. Jordan has been made aware Sunderland will be looking for 4 new forwards and that he can't be guaranteed first team football this season, but he's very confident in his own ability.
I'd be surprised if we bring 4 in, pleasantly surprised mind

So you just spout unconstructive negative shite about a player who hadnt kicked a ball yet.

We have no money we cant sign 2 strikers for 15m. If Vaughan helps us buy a striker for 6 to 10m then its a sensible gamble.

Doubt we will get 4 unless your counting wingers

I don't know about promotion with the players we are looking at relegation is the more likely and you would all have been saying that at the same time last year with the same targets. Short really has done us over, now stripping what is left of the assetts and not looking like reinvesting. Grayson will need to pull out all the stops to keep us in this league. To quote Bill Shankley again "buy second division players and you get a second division team." It follows that buying third division players will get you a third division team. That's the problem with relegation it brings that whole new world closer if you are not careful.

He is a manager, a journey man manager not a miracle man.
He's been a manager for 4 clubs and got them all promoted - doesn't matter what league you are in thats pretty impressive stuff. You are being very unfair on Grayson.

It's not unconstructive just because I don't agree with your opinion and because I cannot name an alternative that fits into your parameters (parameters which are actually unknown to us) to suit your argument.

I'm simply pointing out he's bang average and his career record shows it. Just because you're so desperate in haste for us to sign a striker you're willing to accept any striker.

My 'unconstructive' opinion, which is actually fact is that he's a 1 in 3 to 1 in 4 goalscorer at this level and another fact is his career has been blighted with injuries. My opinion is that unless we can go out and sign a good alternative on loan and spend on a quality first choice too, I'd rather leave well alone than tying us down to someone with a career record and injury record as patchy as Vaughan's.

Now how the fuck is that not constructive?
