Benitez Future In Doubt Over Failure to Secure Key Signings

How much of a pull the club & Rafa do/don't have, it doesn't mean a great deal if the owner won't spend the going rate on transfers and wages.

To be fair, after Charnley had his computer confiscated by the Inland Revenue, he's struggling to get business done in various internet cafes, as Ashley won't sign off on 250 notes for a new laptop.

Wheres the money coming from?

Ashley said he will only spend what the club generates. You dont generate 100m profit so where does Ashley get the money from?

To be fair that is the way that every club should be run. The guy is a nut case and can be criticized for many things, but from a financial perspective he seems to run the club very well and gets undue flak (on that matter), in my opinion.

Such as?

All i see is Thauvun gone. You made a tiny profit the year you were relegated. You will post a loss next accounts. Ashley took out a loan last jan. You have very limited funds to spend

Totally agree

Totally agree
The Mags sense of entitlement and backing of Rafa the Gaffa is truly baffling. It would serve them right if he sold up, preferably to a Vincent Tan type. The 'MELTDOON' would be so funny.:lol:

Newcastle made a c£30m profit on Sissoko, Wijnaldum, etc.

£100m, where did you get that from?

Are you also saying that the club generates no income at all?

Most amusing being lectured on prudent football finances on here of all places mind.

:lol::lol:

Most of that is fair enough. Think you don't put enough blame on McClaren (and the legacy of a broken transfer policy) for our relegation.

re: the players we're after, we're a recently promoted side that doesn't have the £100m that all but 2 sides do. I mean, Sigurdsson looks like if he goes anywhere it'll be for £50m! We simply can't afford to buy the better players, so we have to gamble on foreign bargains (like Lejeune), on young players (like Norwich's Murphy) or players who've not proven they can do it in the top flight (Atsu).

I look at the players Brighton and Huddersfield are buying and I think we can attract and afford a better standard than them, but we can't come close to matching Everton's transfer deals. I also think that a decent number of our current players are more likely to make the step up to the Premier League than most of Brighton and Huddersfield's.

TL;DR

And?

This isnt a computer game finances are much more complex.

You kept a premier league wage bill while adding to it in the championship. You didnt have relegation clauses. So youll find 30m profit may have be in fact 15m profit once wages and agent fees are taken into account.

You spent 70m the season you went down. You still have players like De Jong picking up hefty wages. It isnt a case of we made 30m profit

You generate around 130m last prem season. Your wage bill is around 70m then you have transfers you are still paying for past players and additional signings you may make.

You spent 50m last summer you will be paying installments for players this summer for Ritchie Gayle and Shelvey. So it isnt a case of you made 30m you dont know that. What the sccounts show is in fact your net debt keeps increasing and will increase again with the 30m Ashley borrowed last jan.

Whichever way it happens it'll be popcorn time :)
All the time is popcorn time with that bunch of nutters. The only thing that varies is the size of the bag. I'll be needing a 1000kg one when this all goes tits up. It's a fact, it just hasn't happened yet.

Cosmopolitan background :D

Go on then, I can't wait to hear the explanation of that description......
He had a pizza once ? Or maybe a kebab ? Just idle speculation like.

You asked which players I was talking about when I said we'd made c£30m profit on player sales. So I told you. I also mentioned the first payment of the Premier League money has recently been recieved.

Hope that clears things up.

Loads of Sunderland fans trying desperately to convince each other that Benitez is shit. Few Newcastle fans pissing into the idiot wind who end up covered in piss as they realise they're supporting a team in a division below Newcastle.

That's about it really.
Once more in a common language if you wouldn't mind. To be fair to you I took the trouble to read it twice and it still makes no sense.

Can you clarify this bit for me please? I might be just a bit pissed but it reads to me like Newcastle fans are realising they support a team in a division below Newcastle, which makes no sense unless the Newcastle fans in question have all realised the don't support Newcastle, they support someone else in the lower divisions, which again sounds far-fetched to me.
Thanks mate, I thought I may have been losing what few marbles I have left.

:lol::lol:
It's just a matter of time, it always is, they are always only a hop skip and jump from imploding
Tick tock tick tock.

Lol

Goalposts shifting again.

If us fans were expecting mid table we'd be deluded, a shite newly promoted team expecting to come up and be competitive, getting carried away etc

But because we fans aren't expecting that, its now gonna be a failure if we don't get mid table, based on cumulative financial spends starting from 2014.
Brilliant.
True. It's almost as if the whole site is biased against you.
