Wonder if this thread will make 100 pages

Of course it will. We already have 70 odd pages full of mags biting like fuck. They don't look as though they're going to stop any time soon  Fish's memoires could be compacted into this thread alone he's spent so much time on it.

Of course it will. Wait till you lot make hard work of your easy start

I don't think its an easy start to the season. Nailed on to lose the first game at home to Spurs.
Huddersfield is winnable, but they'll also fancy themselves in the first home game against a team they played well against in both games last season.
West Ham at home is going to be difficult and the visitors won't be too worried coming up here.
Away to Swansea, definitely a home win.
Home to Stoke after that. They are a consistent mid table team. Won't be easy.
Then away to Brighton after that, similar situation to Huddersfield.
Then its Liverpool at home and Southampton away.

Not easy for a team coming back to the top flight at all

You face 2 promoted sides, a side who just stayed up and 2 mid table sides. Thats as easy a run of games youll get all season

Aye, but we're a recently promoted side, we're not that good.

Thats not very ambitious now is it?

I remember your fans telling us wed just be battling relegation as you went down last year. Now a year later its fine to battle relegation??

NUFC have a host of premier league players and have spent more than half the premier league in the past 3 seasons. So newly promoted side is bollocks

Some Newcastle fans might be more optimistic than I am. And some have made a decent argument (points total needed to get top 1/2 e.g.) but I'm more pessimistic.

It's almost like not all Newcastle fans think alike...
The vast majority I've spoke to are expecting mid table. I even overheard some at the cricket on Sunday talking about it (and they weren't daft young lads either). I mean it could happen but NUFC haven't got a devine right to it just because of how big a club you think you are

Ha'way let's get this to 100 pages.

Should get there by lunch time.

Won't happen

Just takes somebody to bite at something and all hell breaks loose.

Probably be there by 11am.

Not an established side are we?
We were in the championship last season, and are now in the premier league after being recently promoted.
If not a newly promoted side, what would you define it as?

Newly promoted side is just a label.

Have WBA
Burnley
Watford
Swansea
Stoke
Palace
Bournemouth

Spent 150m in 3 seasons?

Huddersfield and Brighton yes are newly promoted clubs. NUFC not so much.

The Obese One was whinging about how crazy the transfer market is surely he should've noticed this a year ago when they sold a dogshit player for £30m does he expect to be able to sign good players for £5/10m still
This twitter thread has gone down well

Didn't say we'd necessarily be battling relegation, just that we're not that good (as it stands). I mean, if we went off and spent a fortune on class players I might be more optimistic. But I'm not happy with our left flank, I want depth in key areas, I want a #10 and a striker. Get those and I'll be confident of safety (13th ish). I don't think we'll get all those though, so I'm expecting 14th-17th.

If they meant 10th, my gut instinct is that's beyond us at the minute. That said, there were only 6pts between 8th and 17th. If Watford hadn't given up in April they could well have finished top half. Outside the top 6, the Premier League is pretty tight.

Newcastle have helped to create a transfer market that's totally unpredictable and biased ....... well boo-f***ing-hoo.

Still newly promoted.
I don't know how much those teams have spent. I'd guess palace would be closest.
Have Newcastle even spent that much?
