Benitez Future In Doubt Over Failure to Secure Key Signings

Can you clarify this bit for me please? I might be just a bit pissed but it reads to me like Newcastle fans are realising they support a team in a division below Newcastle, which makes no sense unless the Newcastle fans in question have all realised the don't support Newcastle, they support someone else in the lower divisions, which again sounds far-fetched to me.

You're an idiot then.

I'll expand. Sunderland are in the Championship whereas Newcastle are in the Premier league. Hope this helps seeing as you're struggling a bit...

So these Newcastle fans you spoke of have now decided they're supporting Sunderland? That's what you meant?

Edit: Incidentally, I'm not being facetious, I'm one of the few Sunderland fans on here that couldn't give a fuck whether he's talking to an SAFC fan, a Newcastle fan, a fan of another club or someone who hates football; I'm here for the discussions.

Loads of likes and smilies though....so......there you go. #invaluablecontributions

Happy days.

Aren't you lot worried you'll look a bit silly if Rafa stays, we survive and don't implode to the level you're desperate for?

Didn't you predict Rafa wouldn't come, he wouldn't stay, we wouldn't get promoted, we wouldn't get promoted as champions, etc. ?

A few did but most realistic chaps like myself knew you'd win it due to the money he'd get to do so. Benitez made good use of it whilst Aston Villa did not.
Fwiw, I think RB will stay as he's loved by you lot, is on massive money and quite frankly, he won't get a bigger job as having 'failed to pull up any trees' at RM, Inter and Napoli, his stock is not as high as it was, and never will be again.
I don't think he is crap, but, I do think his better days are behind him.
I also firmly believe that with the squad he had at his disposal for the last 10 games of the season before last, he SHOULD have kept you up.
This season ? I genuinely think you will struggle if that Norwich lad and Delph are the standard of player you are after.
The PL gets stronger each season with no "givens" even at home - where you were poor last season in the Chship losing half a dozen games.

We also predicted that he would take them down.
Non mention of that @The Fish?

Good post, no arguments here.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez frustrated by crazy transfer market
FED-UP Rafa Benitez has labelled the scramble for summer signings as ‘crazy’ with Newcastle struggling to land their top targets. So says Daily Star

Most of that is fair enough. Think you don't put enough blame on McClaren (and the legacy of a broken transfer policy) for our relegation.

re: the players we're after, we're a recently promoted side that doesn't have the £100m that all but 2 sides do. I mean, Sigurdsson looks like if he goes anywhere it'll be for £50m! We simply can't afford to buy the better players, so we have to gamble on foreign bargains (like Lejeune), on young players (like Norwich's Murphy) or players who've not proven they can do it in the top flight (Atsu).

I look at the players Brighton and Huddersfield are buying and I think we can attract and afford a better standard than them, but we can't come close to matching Everton's transfer deals. I also think that a decent number of our current players are more likely to make the step up to the Premier League than most of Brighton and Huddersfield's.

It wasn't crazy last year when he was throwing money at signings and getting silly money for players . We'll see how much he struggles now when everyone else has silly money to spend

Don't start and play the poor little newly promoted club card now. In May you lot were giving it the big un about how you will finish mid table next season based solely on how big you think your club is and the pull of Rafa

Some Newcastle fans might be more optimistic than I am. And some have made a decent argument (points total needed to get top 1/2 e.g.) but I'm more pessimistic.

It's almost like not all Newcastle fans think alike...

Loads of Sunderland fans trying desperately to convince each other that Benitez is shit. Few Newcastle fans pissing into the idiot wind who end up covered in piss as they realise they're supporting a team in a division below Newcastle.

That's about it really.
Imagine logging off for a whole season then coming back once you're promoted
