Do you ever get to hire people? Do you ask them what they've done and what they've achieved or just give them the gig because you like the way they look. Grayson could not have got the job on looks. He makes an ugly fucker like me look bonny.

And the thing is we know we are skint, a lot of them thought there was £100/£150m to spend.
They are raging about transfer fees, it wasn't that last season when they got £30m for Sissoko

Is this a thing that is unique in Sunderland? To cherry pick parts of a conversation, take them out of context then argue against those isolated contextless fractured parts of a conversation?

Like McClaren getting to a major European final or winning the title in Holland? Or Dick winning 10,000 titles in a row with Rangers or taking his country to the World Cup?

Yes I interview all the time and what I'm mostly interested in is what the candidate can offer, plans they have and enthusiasm for the job. Experience comes into play slightly but probably only 40% of it has a baring on my decision

We've already spent 15 million, we won't be splashing out 30-40 million on individual players but the transfer window doesn't shut for another 7 weeks, we'll get a few more in.
