Benitez Future In Doubt Over Failure to Secure Key Signings

He delivered automatic promotion for a relegated side at the first time of asking, with only 1 transfer window. How many other managers can claim that?

He's also done intangible work away from the pitch that has value.
Amazing work. Especially when he spent more than 2nd and 3rd place combined

And less than 13th, but shhhh you're not allowed to bring a broader picture into play... this thread deals only with insubstantial sweeping generalisations.
Maybe the manager of 13th (not sure which club you refer to) just did a really shit job

You didn't say he wasn't permitted to do business you said he only had one window. Which clearly he didn't.
And notice you pick up on that but avoid the Roy Keane point.

There were two windows, one of which he was allowed to do business in, the other he was not. Is it fair (taking off your red and white specs for just a moment) to say he "had" that window?

That's like saying you had 2 drinks despite the barman slowly pouring one of them down the sink, never breaking eye contact and calling you a bellend.

I asked how many, not who? I asked this to demonstrate its infrequency. I thought that was obvious?

Add Dennis Smith to Roy Keane who took a relegated side to promotion at the first time of asking.

Even Douglas from the Chronicle now starting to say there are frustrations, and saying Luke Edwards and Craig Hope
were right in the stories

He had two windows whether he was able to buy was not your point initially, nice try but just admit you were wrong man.
And Roy Keane?

Gettin, I get to explain how buying 11 players for £55m to deliver automatic promotion is a good job well done... again.

Nah, fuck it, go read one of the other myriad threads where Sunderland fans insist winning the Championship is no achievement and the Newcastle fans calmly explain the many ways in which the Sunderland fans are wrong.

Did you not understand the analogy?

I'll try something else, He wasn't allowed to do any business in that window. That window wasn't one that he had control over. There was once a man called Rafa, who the King of Sportsdirectland had forbidden from buying or selling! Rafa BEnitez was in charge during the January window, but despite wanting to do business, and having targets lined up, wasn't permitted to conduct the business he wanted. It is fair to say he didn't "have" a window because "having" a window would imply the ability to do business in that window, which he didn't have, ergo, he didn't "have" that window.

I'm running out of ways to explain this...

I'm shocked that you, of all people, would try so very hard to twist this around. I mean you've declared that you're not biased quite often, yet this twisting is a very good example of bias interrupting ones ability to be objective.

(I've addressed the Roy Keane point, do I really need to go through it again?)

Huddersfield were in a relegation battle then a year later gained promotion. That's more impressive than anything Rafa achieved
