Terry off to villa

He's saying the right things but this move just seems totally counter to his previous behavior where he's proven, on numerous occasions, to be a monumental egotist and bellend.

Apparently he didn't want to play against Chelsea which in and of its self might suggest his priorities are wrong. However if he does still have the motivation and a fraction of his ability to lead he might be an amazing signing.

One of those ones I'd be skeptical of if we were signing him but I might be eating humble pie come May.

Stinks of Rio's disaster at QPR. He will be in a stupid contract too. Be very surprised if he is still in Villa's side come the end of the season. He's an absolute (unt too so hopefully this bucks their dressing room up. A glamour signing by the board.

The best signing any championship club will make this summer. The fact people on here think he will be shite is laughable. He was still getting in the Chelsea team last season man  but it's alright we have O'Shea.

No. He's a top class footballer, but a complete ****

No disputing he WAS, is he still?

How did he far when Chelsea were poor season before last? I seem to recall him getting embarrassed a few times. Surrounded by dross in a league where everyone will be targeting him I can see him racking up the red cards out of frustration and going in a huff when he's not winning every week.

Fair enough. He was a top class footballer. He's probably still a ****

Was he? He struggled against Peterborough last season

Shrewd signing for Villa imo. He's not anywhere near the player he used to be but as a captain he could well drag that lot together. I dislike the bloke as a person but it would be ridiculous to ignore the positives he'll bring to Villa.

O'Shea will not be taking up 20% of graysons wage budget, has played loads more PL game s than terry in last 3 seasons and is a current international. - not saying it's great just playing devils advocate

He'll absolutely need protecting, just as O'shea will here because neither have the mobility if they're left isolated and exposed regularly and they'd end up looking like dis-orientated old men and both have been finished at the top level for a number of seasons. Just because Terry has had the odd outing over the last season and a half in a Chelsea side set up with that protection in midfield it doesn't mean he'll be able to seemlessly step down.

If both have protection in organised units (they could be the main reason it's organised) then their teams will benefit from that, their experience and in Terry's case aerial dominance.

He's a total dick though and while he was "Mr. Chelsea" he's got no affinity for Villa at all. He's as likely to be a moaning primadonna as captain fantastic if you ask me. Huge gamble for that sort of money.

I have seen nothing to suggest that O'Shea can organise a defence. Every time he's been in it we've been a shambles.

Obviously I'm hoping he fails miserably because it'd mean one less team competing with us and because he's a dick.........but I keep thinking of that game where Bridges played against Bruce at Sheff United. I think he may have retired on the back of it.
