So hes incapable of building a side unless hes signed every player is what you are saying?

Benitez is guilty of short term thinking. You had the best squad without 50m being spent and he signed players not uo to the job in the big boys league.

He should have signed hot prospects who had the potential to improve. He didnt instead he blew massive money on poor premier league players and now is moaning because Ashley wants him to offload before finding more buys. Thats gross mismanagement and why he always leaves clubs in a state when he leaves.

55m to win the championship but that is just talked about like it is a normal amount to win that league?

Players let the club down and sold off.
Proceeds used to buy replacements. Net profit on the dealings.
You need to do the same but somehow I don't think you are going to get much for all but the keeper.

Avoidance of the inescapable truth that 50 million is a massive amount of money to spend in the championship, I'm sure with the existing players still there that's a very very expensive squad and one that a world class manager should walk the league with

There was one on here (no longer on the board) a couple of month ago saying spending 55 million is the only way to get promoted, despite them being the only side in history to do that, and two other sides being promoted this very season with out spending that

See this is where you lot are f***ing mental!

I and others point out the fact that 55m is a lot to spend to win the championship, especially if most of them are no longer fit for purpose as the Promotion is too big a jump for them.

Oh I must be jealous. Would I like us to spend 55m and get promoted of course I would, however if it was on championship standard players on big wages making them hard to shift but not good enough for the league? Would I fuck! Why? Cause we have signed below par players on big money and been stuck with them before, that is why we are in such a shite financial position and why we were relegated!

So in conclusion I'm not jealous. Oh and the well played were sold so it was a net profit bollocks washes with me as much as it will Ashley, not one bit as the bank account will still show 55m that was there now isn't!

If you sell you have to replace. Not to is idiotic. If you sell for 50m in an ideal world all clubs would want to spend that money. Do you not want to spend all the Pickford money? Would you settle for 500k being spent on someone like Al-Habsi like? I wouldnt. You use that money to strengthen the team. Rafa strengthened for the championship. He would be foolish to spunk lots of money on untested players and keep us lumbered in the championship.
