Benitez Future In Doubt Over Failure to Secure Key Signings

He is a good manager and is a perfect fit for them because they are 99% behind him - that creates unity and it's positive for the football side of things.

Obviously they will turn with some horsings, especially if it happens at home but I think they will turn on Ashley and charnley first.

He is a manager who needs plenty of funds. That's where the problem lies here.

He's gone.

He's won the Champions League, the UEFA cup, La Liga twice, the FA Cup, Italian cups, lower leagues too. He's also won personal honours for his work. But none of that counts? Behave yourself man.

I mean, he's won a shit load of trophies all over the place, he's clearly, clearly, a good manager.

I've asked this of other Sunderland fans, so I'll ask it of you. Do you think Rafa Benitez is a good manager, if not ask yourself honestly why that is. It can't be his career, that is demonstrably impressive.

He's not the only manager, no, that's why I said it was rare, not unique.

We didn't "scrape over the line". That's a total fabrication. We were 9pts clear of 3rd and 19 pts clear of 7th.

Have you proof he couldn't have done it with less money? And when have you heard of a manager that didn't want to buy the best squad possible? It would be foolish for a Championship side that didn't spend what they could afford to try and get promoted, that would be poor management. We had 10s of millions available to us and are in a financially healthy position, why wouldn't we spend it?

He wanted to strengthen in January so that the new recruits were able to deliver promotion and then perform in the Premier League. This is why we were pursuing Townsend. He's a player that is good enough for the Premier League and we could have had him in January, he gets 6 months playing for Benitez in a lower division and is ready to go as soon as the season starts. That's just good management. No different to trying to get players in asap in the window; the longer you work with them the better they understand the systems, the tactics, etc.

Of course you don't want to talk about Villa, they spent more than Newcastle and failed. Proving that money alone doesn't assure you of anything.
Why would I want to talk about Villa? This is a thread about Benitez you fuckin balloon! You could have had Townsend in January? You couldn't so stop making shit up.

You keep blowing smoke up his arse, let's see what happens when he doesn't get his own way and doesn't get Ashley to spent millions as that's the minimum required to get that team to compete.

Now, again I need to keep repeating myself as you fail to answer basic stuff, if he doesn't get Ashley to part with around 100 million do you expect this great manager to have you competing? The armchair football experts told us there's fuck all between the top of the league you scraped and the bottom of the Premier League, so surely any manager who you believe is a great manager won't need 100 million from the owners will he?

I enjoyed reading your fans bitching when games were lost last season, the bloke was clueless, negative etc, read it on here posted by the armchair experts.

Saturday and spending your weekend trying to justify a man you don't know and the man who kept you waiting over the summer for a better offer, you really do need to get out Ian.

His best was while he was at Valencia in all honesty.
The liverpool cl victory was a fluke. They were done at half time and then gerrard played barca by himself .
He's had some good jobs but failed everywhere despite inheriting good squads and loaded clubs.
Nufc was the best he could hope to get and despite spending obscene amounts you have gone backwards. You were far from convincing in the pub league.

We've gone backwards? How so? What direction were we heading before he took the job, what direction are we going now?

Failed everywhere? He's won things all over Europe man, how can you say he's "failed everywhere". That's mental.

I don't make anything up Ian, you're the clown getting all upset over someone who really isn't all that!

He failed in his first season with what was a squad more than capable of staying us, he failed to beat the sides around him, any win would have seen you survive, bottled it Ian. Stop chomping away and enjoy your weekend, more to life then stressing yourself out on here.

Another gift.

Spout any shite you want and when you are called up or replied to just claim a 'chomp'.

Easy this messageboard lark.

Hope to fuck he says, it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Small budget, something benitez can't work with as he's shocking in the transfer market and has to take the scatter gun approach of signing 10 players hoping 1 comes good.

This season everyone of his transfers needs to be spot on and looking at his history, that's not going to be the case.

The Mags

There is no way Ashley is handing him million after million on loads of players for him to completely balls up the work it has taken to make them a self sufficient entitity.

He failed at your lot by getting yous relegated!!

Benitez isnt a good manager as hes useless unless hes got huge funds.

The villa argument is a poor one they gave funds to a poor manager and one who would never have got them promoted. If Bruce was their manager that preseason youd have not gone up as champions or even at all.

On paper youve had more investment than 5 premier league sides in the last 24 months so he really should already have a side to keep you up. This cry for money is because hes like a spoilt bairn.

I dont see how profit on Sissko and Wijinaldum is a plus for Rafa either when it was Pardew and McClaren who made those signings. Should we praise Grayson for getting 30m for Pickford?
