This is my view

24 hours ago I woke up and was eager to see if we had new owners, fresh ideas, new money and a new manager. Today I wake up with the same owner, possibly no new ideas, possibly no money and who as manager...Simon Grayson?

Firstly, I applaud Ellis. I have been one of his many critics this season but he pulled the plug on the grounds the Germans were not right for the club. He could have pushed, cashed in and walked away. It is common knowledge he wants out so something must have been seriously wrong for him to decide to say no after many days around the table. Leeds, Cardiff and Blackburn all spring to mind

Secondly, Simon Grayson. Last night my neck muscles were in agony from shaking my head in disbelief, but we need to give the guy a chance. Dont know much about him, but I can imagine his one and only remit is to get the club into the premier league. Whether it be 1st, 2nd or via the play offs in a penalty shoot out and as fans we need to accept this. I am not bothered if at home the football is dull and we scrape many 1-0 wins or away from home we shut up shop and settle for draws. Over the last few years, I cant say we have been blessed with fast flowing easy on the eye football with many wins on the way.

Finally, the players which he brings in, I am not bothered in the slightest if they are not big names or internationals, we are a championship club with limited funds. If he brings in players who are not house hold names but at least show they want to be at the club and week in week out try and string results together, then I can imagine many of the 1000's at home will be happy.

Grayson is coming in to a depleted squad and as some have mentioned as a club we are already 5 weeks behind our rivals, lets support him and let him do his job

I dreamt that Simon got us promoted in his first season and then we qualified for the Europa League the season after. Then the cat jumped on the bed and woke me up.

Short pulled the plug for one reason man, how much money he was getting back. Simple as that.

So pulling the plug he's gonna do one of two things to try and get a better return on his investment.

1) try and get us promoted so he can then sell the club at a premier price. To do this he will need to invest and try and assemble a squad cabable of competing in this league and the premier league.
2) sell any assets, strip the squad and wages to a minimum and chip the debt down (his debt) with parachute money and sales

He's obviously decided that doing one of those two things gives him more cash than the Germans.

Yet to see which route we go down.

I imagine it's 2. He's also after some murray dust too and is happy to fluke a promotion

The amount of people saying thanks ellis or he did the right thing just doesn't sit well with me.

I don't believe for one second he did this for the good of safc. He did it for the good of his bank balance. Until he comes out and officially states otherwise I'll stick to what I believe.

Regardless of bank balance I am sure he could have cashed in and walked away and not continued to lose money each year? So staying on being owner of a football club in the championship is financially better for him???

If it wasn't the right deal then he was right to walk away whether you like it or not

It's his club he can ask what he wants for it, he's been so desperate to get out that if he was offered close to what he wanted he'd have taken it and road off into the sunset.

What road is that mate ,the M1?

Missed the smilies off mate ,don't take offense.

Not a chance has this takeover collapsed because Ellis didn't think they could take us forward. As I've said elsewhere when the day comes he'll sell us and never look back

With all the outgoings and upheaval at the club and a supposed 20 mill budget. Short is deluded if he thinks Grayson can get the club back in the premier league.

Mid table top 10 at best.
