Benitez Future In Doubt Over Failure to Secure Key Signings

Aye and I suppose if he was Sunderland's manager you'd be berating him, saying he's failed everywhere he's been, chequebook manager etc.
Doesn't make you less of a sunderland fan if you manage to look at a situation objectively involving Newcastle you know, it's OK to say he's a decent manager and you wouldn't mind somebody like that at Sunderland.
If he was Sunderland manager I'd admit he took us down and achieved the bare minimum of promotion after assembling a squad costing 50 60 M

He covers Newcastle exclusively and has done for a while tbf.

Douglas is from Bradford and supports the bantams. I'm pretty sure his dad is a red and white from Ryton though.

He certainly has an affinity to the mags but that will come with reporting on them for so long. He seems to pander to their fans, although doesn't feel the need to do so to ours.

Gotta be editors instructing them to write that way imo.
He was excellent and very analytical.at the journal and now he's dumbed it right down

A book? Douglas has written a book? The season ended a month ago and he has completed a book in that time. Bloke must be a fuckin genius
Given the quality of his work Id be surprised he has ever read a book never mind writen one.

He took over a team in 19th and heading for relegation. He got them organised and difficult to beat but ultimately they were still relegated. He then made a decent profit over the Summer and got them back up as champions, but with a squad full of good Championship players rather than Premiership ones. It's not a disaster, nor is it a great triumph, but this Summer should be pivotal . If he leaves this Summer I think you could say his stock as a manager (such that it was) hasn't really increased. .

Right now m8 I'd keep looking around our own glass house and put that thing in your hand down - there'll be a time to crow but now is not one of them ;)

Incorrect fella.

Never ever stop kicking the mags, when they are on a life support machine, kick them, as they enter the grave (after a real funeral) kick the casket. They are there for our pleasure, enjoyment and joviality.
The last time they managed to beat us, Noah just finished putting Giraffes on a Boat. They will bang on about a result they read about in Bemaish museum, about how they are everyone's second favourite team, how they have their own nashun.
Just remember, kick them every time and stop being a fanny.

He took you down. He failed at his first task and spent his way back to where your club was before he relegated you.
Why can you idiots not face this truth?

So decent manager? Maybe in the past, but he has always been a chequebook manager. So far, he has done nothing but fail, while spunking cash, at NUFC.

"Them".

He had thirty points to play for and all of the bottom three clubs. He couldn't even beat Villa.
