Sounds like a stupid question but how does a professional athlete just die like this? Like if an unfit person can exercise and be fine, is it some kind of hidden birth defect or could anyone just randomly die

As I said previously West African origin men have high early mortality rates because of unknown or undetected heart defects

Quite a few very fit footballers have succumbed

If your time is up its up I'm afraid ..you see kids collapsing because of cardio issues only last week a poor 12 year old died playing football
 
Is it undetected heart defects that cause this? and if so could he have lived a normal life had he not trained intensely most of his life?
Genuinely interested if anyone knows why this happens

Mate if mine dropped down dead from an undiagnosed heart condition at 36, he was fit as a lop and buit like Garth. Unfortunately he had indiagnosed cardiomyopathy. Sad.
