Cheap, decent keeper still, manager knows him well and will be really good for the younger keepers on the training pitch. Not a great (its good) signing on the face of it but a great deal when looking at the the whole thing.

Sels simply didn't adjust, Darlows positioning is terrible and Krul is way past his best form.

Don't follow the Italian league much but he was an excellent keeper at Liverpool.
 
Decent signing if it happens. Obviously better than what we already have, Rafa has faith in his leadership qualities. For 4m it seems a no brainer. Keepers can gan on forever these days if they keep themselves fit. Only have to look at Buffon for that.

Played 100 games for Napoli man. Pickford has played 28 times for you after playing his semi retirement in league 1. Divvent spout shite and I wont.

Defoe is going strong at 35, Owen was finished at 30. It's down to many individual factors not just a number.

Defoe's dedication to hus craft is impressive, (and sort of reminds me of Shearer). You never hear stories of his drinking, flash cars, crap attitude, gambling etc.
Owen was good at Liverpool but was destroyed by 22 ish and lost his pace. Of course we had to buy him which gave you lot a laugh.
