Away games next season

Awaydays have little to do with division, position, or opposition. Imagine being bothered about not being in the premier league

Like I said our crowds will drop around 10-15k next season so around 25-30% of our regular matchgoing support from the last 10 years will clearly be bothered about not being in the Premier League.

Other people might not find the prospect of paying £45 a ticket only to find they're stuck behind a supporting pillar, watching a 2nd division football match at Hillsborough or Elland Road very appealing either.

I'd disagree that our position has nothing to do with away days as well. We had around 700 at Arsenal on Tuesday. That turnout had everything to do with our position.

Been to Brizzle for work a few times in the last couple of years, the hotels were f...en expensive but the city has really been tidied up
Always remember getting pissed on scrumpy and being paralysed from the waist down and having to get a taxi about 150-200 yards to the turnstiles. Won 6-1 there in a cup game once - been to a couple of midweekers there. Gary Owers 1-0 in the third division iirc?

Been probably 6 or 7 times over the years. Good to be revisiting old favourites in many respects.

I know, I was there and that's my point. I'll be there irrespective of league, position or opposition. I only speak for meself like. ;)

Will be great to watch Moyes play 10 behind the ball away to Burton.

Fair call, yes it was me, he just couldn't understand my Sussex/Wakefield/Mackem accent ;)
& I was perfectly sober :)

Anyway, blame @KENT-FTM for drinking weird beer with a name that starts with "Three" ffs ;)

Just as well I wasn't drinking Wadworths 6x.....you'd have come back with 6 pints:lol::lol:

It didn't look like a very nice beer either!

Cheeky fucker:lol: it was a lovely pint.

When I ordered 3 XTC or whatever it was, it had the blokes with white noses get very interested ;)

I love real ale ( especially 6 X) but if I'm going to drink crap at dodgy pubs & grounds I don't like it stirring it up :)

Sussex lightweights:lol::lol:

We have a core support of about 30k who would attend in League 1 and 2. The fair weather fans will come and go as they please. Our away support is solid.

Crowds dropped to 24k last time we dropped to the Championship so silly to say we'd get 30k in League 2 because we wouldn't. Away support is up there with the best but us only taking 700 to Arsenal, with all the exiles we have down there, speaks volumes.

I do remember taking 50 to some games, e.g. Bristol City, 1st away game of the season (night game), mid 70's.
Mind those 50 included some crackerjacks- Cummy from Murton, Easington Coll lads, Sammy & few others from the town ;)

We took 1,287 to Arsenal mate.

Some people are over exagerrating the cost of tickets down there. The majority of clubs charge no more than £30.

Bored at work so just done a bit of research and 17 of the 24 clubs in the Championship last season charged £30 or more for tickets for away fans for some games last season. 1 club charged £40 or more for certain games which is scandalous for 2nd division football.

Most clubs categorise fixtures these days which means our fans will get stung next season as we're one of the biggest clubs in that league.

That's what the allocation was mate. We had just over 700 there.
