He's done brilliant for us but today in particular he made sure he wasn't going to get injured to spoil his exit opportunity - can't blame him if he has the chance to leave what i guess is a toxic dressing room for one last hurrah in the PL.

Can't understand all this Defoe praise. Can somebody explain to me what he has actually done?

We took the risk and brought him back to Britain. We paid him well and he decided he wanted to leave for free if we were relegated.

I wonder how people would feel if it was Borini or Kone wanting this in their contracts....
 
He's done his best for us, but given the shit around him who can blame him for struggling to continue to make an impact. Borini ? The vision of a blind man. Anichibe ? The body of a porcelain doll ? Best of luck to the man wherever he goes he will always have a soft spot for us

Don't get me wrong I definitely agree that he has been poor the last part of this season and he clearly wants away but you can't expect anything other that that. He has been selfish but we've gotten plenty of goals and good moments out of him and he has been class for us so it's totally out of order all of this abuse in opinion.

Maybe there's hope yet then that we might keep him.....when premier league players legs go it happens quickly and they have to adapt their game or drop down a level. Still maintain he will have more fun, play every week and score more goals if he stays with us

I agree he's done well and been very well paid to do it but he hasn't been to good since the England game. Good luck to him but there's always the niggle in the back of my mind that since then he has knew he would need to move to get England games. He has been offside loads and his body language has changed. Maybe paranoid but that's what modern day footballers are all about.
 
it's disappointed me tbh, I posted on here at the start of January that he was desperate to get away.

his attitude for the last 3 months has been very poor IMO. couldn't wait to get away

No loss to me, I hope we let him go and get somebody younger in. If a player wants a contract where he can jump ship for free if we are relegated we shouldn't sign them in the first place. This is how the club is in the mess it is.

As for his goals, he has scored 15 this season, 5 were penalties so that leaves 10 in 40 matches. People are actually praising a striker for that? 1 goal in his last 12 matches. There's no wonder we are in the position we are in.

I'm not blaming Defoe alone but a striker needs to score more than that. He has definately had the opportunities before people start with the he doesn't get the service line

Course he didn't. Why would he? Yes, he got a bit emotional once or twice after scoring but he's got absolutely no ties to this club - there's no reason why he should treat us any differently to Portsmouth or Bournemouth.

Reminds me of Phillips in our relegation season then. Seems people are desperate to let those last few performances spoil his legacy at the club n'all.

There are far, far more pressing things to get pissed off about than how Defoe has played in the last few months like.

I think he has put more work effort in than all the team put together. But sadly because he has put more effort than all the team put together he has been given nothing, The midfield yesterday and even some of the defenders simply did not pass at all well. If you don't have balls coming to you how can you take a chance? If you want to blame a striker blame Borini.
