The board never ceases to surprise me mate, the service provided by our midfield this season has been one of the worst for years and years it's a minor miracle he has scored the goals he has.

Moved to the random no-gives a fuck football wilderness of Toronto. Sunderland in the championship is still more attractive than that. So we'll see how much he really 'loves' the club, won't we?
 
I suspect even Defoe has been worn down by the constant struggle and strife of playing for Sunderland, especially up front.
It's a pity it's never gone well the last couple of months, but he's not super human, he's just about gone like all the rest.
He's making the same runs and moves as what he did when he was scoring, but a combination of fuck all coming his way and basically a loss of form has done for him.
We shouldn't let this cloud his contribution to us, along with Pickford he's the only player of quality we've possessed in recent seasons.
 
Is this thread for real? Fed on scraps all season, then supply got considerably worse once PVA left. Despite this still got 15 odd goals. Along with Pickford the two players who are beyond reproach imho.
 
Defoe has been loads better in the last two or three weeks than the two months before that. Turning on him now just smacks of attention seeking.
