A week after relegation and yes no one wanted to see us relegated but apart from the odd great result and customary drubbing of the mags, who can genuinely say they have enjoyed our stay in top league?
For me it just comes as a relief that now we can try and rebuild from a clean slate and start again.

I did. Fancy not winning as many games at the highest level as opposed to the second tier. I really expected to be winning every week.

I think the club should apply to the northern league so we can win more games. While we're at it, enter the FA cup at the preliminary stages - think of all the wins we'll see!

People not wanting their team to play in the highest possible league is strange.

I did up until PDC was appointed. Since then there was the great escape and Wembley which I loved (didn't even enjoy my trip to Wembley THAT much as I was ill and couldn't drink ) but by and large it's been shite.

If we come straight back up and get our finances in order then relegation will have been no bad thing and next season will probably be quite enjoyable.

The terrible fear is that with Ellis and Moyes steering the ship we will linger lower to mid table. Our finances will get worse and we'll stagnate in the Championship.

That's not really the point though. I'm more pissed off that despite being in the richest league in the world for 10 seasons, we have failed to improve as a club.

I agree.

With our current financial structure/mess we can't compete anyway.

We're paying top 10 Premier League wages for a Championship level squad. It was never sustainable.

Then it is completely justified to question why we are in this position.

I agree and let's be under no illusions here we need to bring in more players and players who can do the job, no mistakes from Moyes or we will struggle.

Unlikely as they are to happen we are now further away from the potential of real success than ever now which is Europe, cup finals, Wembley and proper titles. That is what dissapoints me. The top flight gives us stature and relevance not just as a club but as a city.
Being in the Championship represents failure and there is no guarantee that we will win games next season and come back.

We'll win games again, we'll have more fun as supporters. That's literally what football is all about and what we all should be looking forward to.

Blackburn won 12 games this season, double our total. Do you think they've had fun? I wonder if they enjoyed their win today?
This relegation has been so inevitable I couldn't give a fuck we've gone down.
I don't believe you

A list of long repeated reasons. It's almost a case of pick your own.
I think that's why we're seeing squabbling amongst the support. At first I thought it was because this was the first relegation we had seen in the "social media age" and it was drawing out WUMs and keyboard warriors. However because of the numerous problems and contributing factors, it's probably impossible to find two people who agree on yhe exact root cause. All of them could be in theory correct.

I never thought on promotion we would last anywhere near 10years.

Overall I see it as a positive we did as opposed to negative we have gone down.

We will be back, of course we will. Look at last 40 year history, it's only a matter of time and almost everyone has a better time in Championship on away days anyway.

I have enjoyed my time in the Premier and would have liked to have stopped there. Did you witness the relegation to division three? success is far from guaranteed in the championship.

I'm pretty sue we haven't finished lower than 3rd from top in the championship in the last twenty years.
