Our squad compares unfavourably with Derby, Leeds & Villa

The quality in that league is horrendous. We've been mismanaged but a lot of the team we'll be left with next season are good players for that league. People on here going way over the top, you'd think we had non league players the way some on here go on.
Mika, Jones, Love, Djilobodji, Oviedo, Ndong, Cattermole, Gibson, Rodwell, McNair, Watmore and Gooch are what we'll have left, maybe O'Shea and Anichebe too. That squad would struggle in the Championship and we reportedly have very little to spend again.

Pretty sure Villa will have to go with more or less what they already have, what with spending £60m last summer. All depends on Shorts ambition for a quick return.

which is why, i haven't had the normal hope that we would come right back up, because apart from one or two, i can't see ability in that side to have a quick return to the premiership, that of course is working with just that list, and ruling out summer signings, as i don't want to pre judge them

Totally agree. We will sign players obviously but with Moyes in charge and a shoestring budget we will be closer to the bottom than the top down there, I'm sure of it. Fingers crossed he's out soon and the club make the right appointment to replace him, and Short finds money from somewhere to fund the vast amount of players we're going to need to bring in.

I agree with all of this, because for me its the things we are looking at now, and that is down to the manager, and also for me the owner, now i am sure my opinions on ellis short are well know by now on this forum but he has to take some blame for our relegation, and do a lot of things to fix it, but as for exceptions for next season, i have none.

It's hard to say how our squad will fair in that league right now because we're going to have a totally different squad come September. This summers recruitment is abolsutely vital.

However, one thing for certain is that the championship is a much tougher league now than it was in 2006/07. I think people are in for a big surprise if they think we will walk that league.
Comparatively? There's little difference. The premier league we're falling out of is better too
