Does Rafa Benitez get criticism from Newcastle fans?

He started with the best squad in the championship, spent £55m and are stumbling over the line to finish behind Brighton
Couple of things:

Did they have the best squad? They got relegated with 2 other teams.
They spent £55m maybe. But they sold 2 good player to fund it

Despite that, the man is an utter charlatan. A complete child. And if anyone can be arsed to search my posts I said this the moment they hired him.

And a dickhead

Statistically he'll be the worst Newcastle manager in 25 years. Their lowest final position since Keegan left that dodgy lay-by.

Pardew spent less than £20m in his first full season and finished 5th in the premier league followed by one of their most successful European campaigns - hated

Benitez relegates them despite the easiest run in possible and then spends £60m and might just scrape promotion - loved
Said it before it's just because he's managed bigger clubs than them and it's their dillusioned way of believing that as long as he's their manager it makes them a big club. It just means the inevitable parting will be even more bitter :lol:

On paper it was certainly one of the stronger ones (maybe I made it sound worse because I have never rated him like you ), yes they did fund it getting good money for 2 players.

Benitez still will not have won a league in 13 years despite managing Liverpool (with Gerrard and Torres in their prime), Inter Milan, Napoli and Real Madrid

That inter Milan team he took over was superb. Champions league winners and one of the best teams in Europe - enter Benitez...

Real Madrid. One of the easiest jobs in football - had them 3rd

Has he ever left a club in a stronger position than when he took over

Managing to finish 5th in Serie A with a squad containing Higuain, Callejon, Insigne, Mertens, Gabbiadini, Hamsik and Jorginho is actually quite impressively shit, how on Earth he got the Real Madrid job on the back of that beggars belief.

That's scarily bad. Higuain as your forward and only manage 5th
