Protest At The Man United Game

Unbelievable that even when we all share on one common goal, we still can't agree on the best course of action.

The ones that do nowt but whinge about the manager etc and then slag off folk for trying to make a change and do something positive are the worst marra. Some proper holier than thou crap going on.

For those involved, good luck and thank you for trying!

What will you be doing big fella?

I live in Surrey and go to more games than you every season ..... even when I lived in France.

I've never had one in my life.

I left the NE aged 8 and started going to games aged 14 ..... I got to the point where I was going to almost every game, home & away, despite living in Mansfield.

I ran a coach for many years and went through an entire season when I saw every game in the league and cups ..... the Stockport 'Osher Williams' season.

I've never seen less than a third of our games, despite living in the south of France for over 15 years and Surrey now.

I'd put my support, over the last 50 years, up against anyone.

Living in the NE and having an ST is a piece of piss tbh.

Just curious how you're getting a ticket for Boro without a ST? Presumably getting a friend with loyalty points to get you one? Unfortunate that you're depriving a proper fan of a ticket.

There's no fan more proper than me you bell end ..... including you, what a pompous arsehole.

If you're such a 'proper fan' you'll be at Boro courtesy of your ST I expect ....... will you?

However what I think is truly pathetic are the people on this board that are happy to slate the Sunderland fans wanting to do something but yet they just sit back and do fuck all and accept this absolute embarrassment but claim this club is there life and the love Sunderland.

.
I wouldn't publicly condemn you for doing what you feel to be necessary, yet you feel at ease slagging those that don't want to follow your lead.
Double standards there if you ask me.

Not this season you haven't.

Indirectly though the fans are 'stakeholders' in a sense, they're consistent, long-term paying customers. If they feel they're treated with s lack of respect or the club (company) is taking the mickey they will simply stop attending and that will affect the bottom line. So they'd be advised not to give that impression. Things like this don't help.

How will a reduction of season ticket sales affect the finances by the way? There's been a lot of talk of it on here. Don't forget it means they're not buying programmes, drinks, food, and they won't be visiting the club shop.

The club's total turnover in 2015 was £101m; the gate money element of that (which includes season tickets) was £10m. If half the season ticket holders didn't renew, best guess impact would be £6-8m. That could come down very quickly with a successful Championship campaign if ex-season ticket holders come back for individual matches, or buying half-season cards if a promotion campaign was in sight.

If, if, if. We'll (almost certainly) be playing in the Championship so it's obviously going to matter more.

I'm not ..... it's like swatting flies tbh
You canny at that?

I haven't slagged a single individual off as some on here are clearly doing.

What are double standards are people saying how they love the club and want to see us succeed however are happy to sit through this shit week in week out doing nothing apart from calling other supports mags etc for trying to be vocal about it rather Than over a message board.

Also it is pathetic that how every time something like this is brought up or if someone doesn't like the others opinion they are a "mag" people give more of a fuck about perception than the club.

This can't be measured on a spreadsheet, but assuming his ultimate goal is to sell up then an empty stadium doesn't do a lot for the appeal of the club to a new owner.

When Quinn convinced Drumaville, and subsequently Short, to buy the club he did it on the back of huge attendances despite the poor performances. I remember him commenting on bringing the Drumaville lot to the Arsenal game at the end of the 15 point season. Decent crowd, making a lot of noise despite the situation, but clearly disgruntled with the current plight. "Imagine how many more would come if you brought them success" being the one USP Sunderland has which most clubs don't. If there are few thousand bored and disinterested people meekly watching us slip down the leagues I can't imagine him ever getting someone interested.
