Obviously, she could have a mare tomorrow but, so far, her and the Irish woman last week have impressed me most.

I've still no idea why the old bloke last week chose Indian spices over chocolate when he hadn't cooked Indian food for 2o years or so.

A lot of people just don't have enough pastry experience and find it daunting particularly the male species it seems

A fair point! I'm amongst them, not that I'd class myself as anywhere near Masterchef standard anyway. I guess he could have tried to be clever and gone down some sort of savoury plus chocolate route but he seemed more of a classicist than an innovator.

Aye he was a very much a 70's dinner party sort of cook - nowt wrong with that but he'd struggle to advance with that repertoire.

Agreed. He didn't seem likely to progress and grow (in a culinary sense) in the way some others would. The bloke who got through at his expense (Imran?) seemed very close to being very good anyway.
 
The sound engineer baldy and the doctor lady have made some ludicrously good looking food.

Shame we don't have Taste TV yet.
