What every fan wants, is somebody to come in and galvanise the their club. Keegan didn't just drag the club from the depths, the whole city got caught up in the euphoria of king Kev.
On Keegans watch the city transformed from grim northern industrial city to internationally renowned destination. He made the place buzz. Saturday's from match day to nighttime were incredible. That was the power of the man.
The fact that there was as many highs as lows was all part of the charm.
