Great summing up, thanks for this gerrard

"Sunderland are a bang average championship side without Defoe in it"

Aside from one half of footy that fooka was bang average, how many titles did the prick win for pity City?

He's spot on and most would probably agree at this moment in time. Rewind 7 days though and not many would've been having it. After all this time you'd think everyone would realise that one swallow doesn't make a summer.

It's a bit short sighted from Gerrard i think. I don't think he is spot on. Depends what he means by 'side'. If he is talking solely on the team we put out yesterday (very much forced upon) then yes he may have half a point. But the side as an entire playing squad is better than an average championship side. Pickford, Kone, Oviedo, Kirchhoff(when fit), Gibson, Cattermole and one or two other that are arguably lower half premier league players. We could put a team out to compete with a sustained injury free unchanged team (see second half of last season), we haven't been able to and on occasion the manager has used questionable tactics and substitutions and some players don't look arsed at times.

i agree with him to be fair.

sunderland without defoe, pickford, cattermole, kirchoff, watmore and anichebe looks pretty poor

If we are are relying on cattermole, Gibson and Kirchhoff then we are knackered mind. 3 regular sicknotes.

Same goes for;

Swansea without Llorente and Sigurðsson

Crystal Palace without Benteke and Cabaye

Leicester without Mahrez, Gray and Schemichel

Burnley without Heaton and Andre Gray

Boro without Valdes

It's a bit of a daft comment, expect nowt less from Gerrard considering how dreadful Liverpool have been without Mané.

And that will probably be the reason for our downfall, it is not that our side is a bang average championship side. It's that we are reliant on GOOD premier league players that are constantly injured. It not that we don't have the quality to compete, we do. It's the fact we have to compete for virtually 38 games with a second string team which isn't sustainable in the slightest

No they don't man! We are rubbish every season so they comment on us being rubbish. It's not rocket science.
Some people cant take the truth, if he said we are good enough to stay up he would be a fantastic pundit.

I wonder how many minutes he's watched us this season? I'm not saying he's wrong atm but get all of our players back and fit and we should be able to hold our own in this league.
Probably tried to watch us a lot but ended up turning it off.

You saying Gerrard was a bang average player?

How many titles? In one of the biggest klerbs in the world, they only went close when Suarez, a proppa world class player went there....

How shit was he for England? Golden generation my fookin arse......

As opposed to Liverpool who are a top 10 to top 6 side without Mane or Coutinho.
