QA bridge is single Lane. This will provide an additional two lanes and provide better links for cyclists and pedestrians. And it's not half a mile, it's closer to a mile away, it's 3.1 mile to get from retail park to Pallion industrial via QA and 5.3 mile via Hylton bridge. Those distances are fine in a car but not on foot and by car you have to get through congestion and umpteen traffic lights at QA one way system. Look at how many crossings there are in London, Newcastle etc. They all help to reduce traffic, without them people would not want to relocate jobs or housing there. It's not rocket science to understand.
 
Bridge of Light. Could be like Lord of the Rings when they light the beacons. All the way from Durham House to Nissan to the Bridge to QA to the Beacon of Light. We should get Tom Hanks involved as Robert Lang...............

How many more QEII bridges do we need though? Agree it might be Charlie or George if Lizzie goes in the next year, though there might be a desire to commemorate her too. Would be good to have something different though.

As long as I'm not as underwelmed as I was when the stadium name was announced I'll be ok, any of your suggestions would be fitting imo. Jack or Joe would get my vote.
