Who else to replace him.He is at the end of the long line of failed managers at SAFC. Nothing is going to change until the ownership does.Moyes has not become a bad manager overnight.

He's become a bad manager over his last 3 jobs (this one included). I wasn;t overly keen in the summer and I've seen nowt since to change my mind.

Hiding to nowt at Man.Utd. and the Spanish job was never going to work. Granted sooner he came to us direct from Everton but that was never going to happen. Lets face it, the hand he was delt when he took over , even Hoodini would have struggled to escape (and were not down and out yet, but Stoke game was dire!!!)
 
It sounds like people were hoping for a miracle worker and Moyes came up short.

We thought we were in a great position in the summer ready to kick on but the reality was that we weren't. Big Sam wouldn't have been happy if he'd stayed with the money made available, it looks like the club were never going to pay the package required for M'Vila and they were never going to be able to hold on to Kaboul.

I suspect that the immediate financial impact of signing Love, McNair and N'Dong combined was less than the sum required to secure M'Vila in the summer and that is why he isn't here unfortunately.

The slightly galling thing is that we are competing in a league with other clubs who would be in just as bad a financial position as us if they were using the same funding strategy as we are. It seems we have a very rich owner who bought our club thinking that he was astute enough to actually make a profit from the deal where in reality that would have been almost impossible.

What hand? 7m on MVila, a decent 8-12m CB and a decent 10-12m midfielder plus 2-3 loans would have been enough to make us a decent side.
But he decided to sign Papy, Ndong, McNair, Ndong, Manquillo and Pienaar, all no better than what he had.

Took the Champions and with a 70m transfer budget took them to 7th (broke the all time fee paid for a player at the club), took Sociedad and with the biggest transfer budget in the history of the club (including another all time transfer fee paid) and he was a laughing stock, now he broke the transfer record at another club and bought only shite while destroying the atmosphere and we should keep faith in him? :lol:

We couldn't afford that!! For a start it was closer to £10m, secondly they wanted it all on the date of sale. We simply don't have those levels of reserves available for investment.

For those asking why the payments for Ndong being in tiny instalments is relevant, that's why! It limits the players you can get. If you want an M'vila you pay up front, if you want an Ndong, his club are more likely to let you pay over a period of time.

No one on here wanted us to sign M'Vila more than me, I have said more than once I would of paid the fee required to get him in permanently and that it was a big mistake not to do so. However since then more has come out about our financial situation and I've accepted that we simply couldn't afford either his fee or his wages. If a massive M'Vila fan boy like me can accept it then I'm not sure why others cant and continue to use it to have a go at Moyes

Don't get me wrong I think it's an absolute disgrace that after 10 years in this league we cant afford that kind of transfer but that is a completely separate thing

Separately I think Ddong gets loads of stick on here simply because he isn't M'vila, I like Ndong and although he is very raw I think he will go on to be a good player for us / someone else. We have missed his energy and running massively in the last few games

It was 7m, the agreed fee after the loan. The money paid up front for Ndong and McNair alone would have got us MVila. That if we believe the small instalments stuff, an information only thrown around by a member this board. Surely I won't believe that the 18.5m fees for Ndong and McNair can be a better financial deal for Sunderland than signing M'Vila.

The way things have gone this season i wouldn't have been surprised if M'Vila was on the injury list had we signed him. The club was in crisis when fat head left. Moyes has had to try and put the pieces together as the season has gone on and it doesn't seem to get much easier for the lad.
 
Shocking the way Short wouldn't sanction the Mvila deal mind. Tight bastard :( No wonder Allardyce was getting annoyed before fucked off.

Ndong will cost the same as M'Vila on a 3.5 years time, fee and wages included. We could have even kept the 5m wasted on the useless McNair to help the deal. It was a disastruos deal for Sunderland.

Ndong and McNair together wont be on as much as M'vila wanted. If we had made M'vila our highest paid player what do we do when Defoe wants the same or more than him? We simply couldn't afford to pay for him upfront and there is no way we could have committed to a 3 or 4 year contract on the kind of wages he was wanting

The total price of the contract with the transfer fee is what we need to look at now when signing players not just what we pay a club in transfer fees

You mean when Allardyce was manager? That deadline had long passed by the time Moyes was appointed. I'm still not sure that's right anyway.

It wasn't a case of deciding between McNair/Ndong or M'Vila. We literally could not afford to buy M'Vila!!!! We didn't have the money there, it wasn't an option, it wasn't possible, we couldn't do it!!!
