You do realise you've totally contradicted yourself with the two statements I've highlighted?
Yes,yes I do !

Should of maybe said the last 3

May I take this chance to say "fuck off " ;)

Ally Mccoist?
Peter Reid?

Jesus wept man
Top of my head stuff, and that's a different question really anyway.....The thread is about backing for Moyes and that's where I'm at with regard to that.....he cant afford many more abject performances like we had yesterday

I'm 42. Other than two magical years, I really can't remember us being anything other than a bit shit.

Changing managers frequently has hardly kept us flying for the past 30 years, maybe we should stick with one for a change...

It's the hope that kills me. Every. f***ing. August.

Maybe he knows what's on bench not good enough? Maybe it's a message to the owner?

Amazing how many of our fans have become experts on our u23s in recent weeks.
Whats the U23s got to do with not doing anything? The word anything is the important bit he did fuck all nothing zilch. Defend him all you like if thats the kind of Manager you want? If so i respect your opinion mate but its not what i want.

Serious question: why do you rate Moyes? He's done well in ancient times but this version of Moyes is shot. We've seen it before with managers who are past their sell by date. A lifeless corpse, clinging determinedly to the vestiges of a distantly successful career.

Can you honestly tell me that you can see anything positive going on? Anything?

Cos our squad is piss poor?
Moyes has contributed to this squad with 10 players. He's got to take responsibility

He knew NDong, our record signing, would be missing this month and still bought him. He's been very lucky his other big buy Papy wasn't picked aswell.

Out of all of his signings only Victor has made a big difference and he was signed after the window had shut.

I'm not sure I'd trust Moyes with anymore money judging by his recruitment

I am.

He is an experienced premier league manager who knows what he's doing. He was at Everton for 11 years and rarely had them out the top 8 whilst spending little money. He needs time to get it right.

How many managers do we need to go through for people to realise the owner is the problem?

Think the criticism Moyes gets is way over the top. People complaining he never brought any subs on today but how many of these young players have most fans actually seen play live? Not many watch our u23 games. Maybe Moyes has watched and knows they wouldn't have made a difference?

We lost today because Stoke have a better team. Other than Defoe, how many of our starting 11 would have got in theirs today? None.
I'm not. I'm sick to back teeth of him.
Yes we've got injuries etc but he works with these players day in, day out and they still can't do the basics very well. I can accept defeats to the big boys but rolling over against the likes of Stoke, Burnley and Swansea is unforgivable. Plus his transfers in the summer have proved to be poor in general.

Exactly this except I'm 52. In my view we have to stick with Moyes - everytime we change the manager we end up, pretty quickly, back where we started - in a mess and its costing massive amounts of money.

I agree Moyes looks like he's a beaten man. I'd be reluctant to replace him, simply because I can't think of any manager out of work who wouldn't be a big gamble. However another performance like saturday and I'd throw the dice.

How long do we stick with someone who is failing though?
I go back to Mark Hughes who developed a very good Blackburn side who turned over us under Keane. Keane was very depressed about it and Hughes said it takes 3 years to get a team/squad where you want it.

If we went down this year and stuck with Moyes, allowed him the chance to build up the team and style of play that he wanted we may come back and be able to emulate Bournemouth. I'm not saying that would be automatic but it would be preferable to the endless groundhog we now get of sack manager, brief rally, struggle. At some point we have to break this cycle because there has been precious little to be positive about in the time we've been in the Premier League - its generally been soul-destroyingly awful.

The priority for me is stay in the premier league at all costs. Of course I'll renew whatever happens, but the consequences of being relegated could be catastrophic financially and it could be years before we get back to the premier league

At some point though,we've got to jump off this managerial merry go round Short has been tripping since he took over from Quinny. I'm not impressed by Moyes so far,but he's got a decent level of experience and is probably as good as anyone we're likely to get to effect a complete revamp of the playing side of the club. This will take time, inevitably, but our relegation this season will present the chance to make a start.
