Newcastle - as bad as the Scousers?

Looks to me as if the local paper were able to use direct quotes from Taylor to make a national story relevant to their customers, just as literally every local newspaper in the country would do if they had similar quotes/stories about him. The difference, as I've mentioned, is that the knickers on wearside aren't twisted when it's the Plymouth Herald.

Local papers don't exist to tell stories anymore, they're advertising boards and anything that drums up traffic or sales of physical papers is good copy for them. A local take on a national story is one sure fire way to do that. And, when there are quotes to go with it, it's easy copy isn't it.

Why were you on a Newcastle facebook group man?

I've not seen that group myself, but I'd wager that someone's just lifted this story from the Chronic and posted it there for likes and attention.

A few of my mates are black and whites, so it appeared on my timeline. Even they said it was cringeworthy man

How many times was it replayed on the Football Manaja game until he accepted the job?:lol::oops:

Love it when people wilfully misunderstand a fairly straightforward (and frequently repeated) point.

Yes it's cringeworthy that local newspapers need to crowbar links to national stories to sell advertising space, rather than just writing a story about local interests on their own merit, but it's not unique to the Chronic.

I also think it's a little disrespectful to the memory of a good man, to try and score internet points over your local rivals because of the coverage by the local paper, but that's just me.

Any Newcastle related thread and the resident Mags are on it in a flash
... well, aye obviously. It's a thread that we'll be more interested in, likely be better informed on and be willing to spend time setting people right on.

Just like people interested in threads about hooliganism and "firms" swoop in on threads about that.

"Love it when people wilfully misunderstand a fairly straightforward point."

My point, quite obviously, is not that you should have an interest but that you lot are always on here in a flash.

In fact that's literally what I said.

So it's simply the alacrity of the reply? Looks to me like it took an hour and a half before there was a Newcastle fan replying. Love to watch fireworks round yours, seems your flashes go on a long f***ing time.
