Just been looking at the matches from that 08/09 season and man united won the league by 4 points, but at the time of the facts rant, they had two games in hand on Liverpool. Liverpool lost only 1 game before the rant, and one game after it. They even won4-1 at old trafford.
Liverpool drew games they probably should've won, such as away to Wigan, vs Everton, 4-4 vs arsenal, they drew with man city in there too.
Man united were class in that era, that was their 3rd league title in a row, they were champions of europe and in 09 got to another final but lost against barcelona. Also remember them not conceding for about a dozen games at one point. Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, Vidic, Ferdinand, Van Der Sar, Scholes, Carrick all absolutely immense for them in that era.

To not be clear ten points clear and pissing every game, after all of their pre-season boasts and claims they would go unbeaten, labelling the FSW as the best manaja the league has ever seen and their squad as the best, following that ludicrous financial outlay is nothing short of a joke.

I think 85 points is biggest total to fail to go up automatically from division 2 since it went to a 46 game season.
So we need 34 more points to make sure of it. (Might require more, but generally speaking 86 will make sure of it.)
So reading need to get 40 points to get that, whilst still getting 6 more points than our final total.

It may sound arrogant but I'm still pretty confident of automatic promotion. Still think we will win the league as well, but that doesn't look as sure as it did a few weeks ago.
