Surely not one aspect of the football club has been run 'successfully' in recent years. At least after the next defeat there won't be a questioning of what he actually does and the subsequent outright blaming of everyone from the backroom team down to the tea-lady.
Of course it will be someone else's fault - but not him anyway.
It's a spikey subject .Will his replacement be given time to gel?
Quinn is clearly just thinking. "What in the holy fuck has that fella got on his head"

New CEO realises this and sweeps out those that haven't performed. That's life basically.
You would have to take some large leaps to claim Sunderland AFC have been relatively 'successful' commercially compared to clubs of a similar, and indeed smaller, size in recent years.
Or am I missing something?
Why would only those at the club know how we've performed well commercially? Doesn't our commercial growth show minimal growth in the booming Premier League?I don't know if we could have performed better commercially or not - only those at the club would know that. I was just making the point that somehow after a defeat someone would post questioning everyone and everything even those not purely football related.
There was an analysis of our true shortcomings in the financial area posted not long ago which stated that our true shortfallings were in the transfer market and our lack of profit on transfer outgoings compared to inlay - Newcastle spent £70 million last year and got relegated - someone then paid £30 million for Sissoko and £25 million for Wijnaldum - go figure
If anyone asked me what could have been done better then I could say for certain the scouting/acqusition of players.

Quinn had some god awful haircuts in his Arsenal days mind.Quinn is clearly just thinking. "What in the holy fuck has that fella got on his head"
What has been the growth of similar clubs? How does our commercial income compare? Why would only those at the club know how we've performed well commercially? Doesn't our commercial growth show minimal growth in the booming Premier League?
Anyway, he's gone. One of the most unpopular directors at the club ever, a club who in my lifetime have had generations of unpopular people at board level.
Its been posted already on this thread by the look of it. Ours has grown by about £4m in 5 years. What has been the growth of similar clubs? How does our commercial income compare?

Not quite that bad mind.Quinn had some god awful haircuts in his Arsenal days mind.
You asked what Sunderland's commercial growth had been. So I answered with my understanding of itThat wasn't what I asked?
How about doing you're own research, instead of making snide comments to a poster who at least made the effort to reply to your rather demanding question. This is a discussion board, not a footballing stats site. That wasn't what I asked?
