Pickford to Arsenal

Papy certainly has improved. Still at fault for a lot of our goals this season, switches off at crucial times. Was at fault for Swansea third and the Leicester goal in recent games.

We can get better and personally would rather see Denayer get his chance. Anyway he won't be moving nobody will rate him as 8 mil let alone us making a profit.

If Papy can continue his form we could be looking at Kone money. Long way to go before that though of course. Ndong, he has the physical attributes, if he doesn't pick up form in the second half of the season I will start getting concerned.

I'd like to see Denayer as our solitary DM instead of having two personally. Especially at home.

Ellis likes this
Would set a record.

Would be shocked if Ellis/Bain/Moyes agree to anything less than 35m as time is on our side.

"However, it will depend solely on if Arsenal are willing to pay the money that the
Wearsiders deserve for their academy graduate which, given he’s a bright young English
prospect, should be at least
£35million.
...
Whether anyone would be willing to pay £35million in a January transfer window that is
traditionally used more to stock-up your squad for the season run-in remains to be seen,
but it is more likely the club will get a better deal for Pickford by waiting until the summer.

Apparently they are giving us £20m and loaning him back for the season.

Sorry if SEB but couldn't see it anywhere

20 million:lol::lol:
Not even Safc would be that INEPT to sell him for that pathetic fee

It's poor business mate. We're a football team in case you forgot.

Way of the world though isn't it. Spurs lose their best players every season to bigger clubs, even Chelsea and Man City are always vulnerable to Madrid and Barca. We are no different, the best way for us to progress as a club really is to bring youth through the academy and flog them for a fortune, it's what Southampton have been doing and its worked a treat.

If Pickford n Defoe do go in January it could well finish me with the club! I know it's only paper talk but with them we at least have a chance

A hand will be snapped off here...

As it should be for anything over 30mil with a loan to keep through season end.

That said, I also fear it would all go to pay down the club debt.

As has been said a number of time we already have two PL loans and can't have any more. You would have to have Arsenal prepared to divvy up his fee now on the basis we would allow him to sign for them next season. That seems unlikely given the fees being mentioned.

Let's be honest here.

We're not a club looking to 'push on', not aiming to progress, etc ...... we're a club up for sale, in the shit and desperately trying to stay in the PL, that's the reality.

We certainly wouldn't be looking to buy a keeper for £20 million plus.

Anything above that figure, if we definitely have transfers arranged, plus a keeper like Pickford for the season and I'd reluctantly say yes.

I'm all for building for the future but we have to have a future ...... dropping down, losing millions and selling him for £10 million would be a disaster.

We need a buyer and that'll be much easier in the top division.
