Give over, my arse. If a football stadium can't host a football game because of a concert, stop the concerts. Build an arena on the Vaux site if you want the Boss in Sunderland.

The stadium hasnt hosted many football matches since it opened infairness.... well football matches of any quality

You could judge him on our commercial performance surely? Which is shit.

Cant of been that shit, he has got a job at Wembley hasnt he?

As I say, very few local promoters or venues make money these days. I dont know what the crack is with Man City (I dont with Sunderland but have worked with who they deal with) but Im sure they could write it off as tax loss

Oh i am fully aware music venues, especially the smaller independent ones are and it is a shame, some of the ones in Liverpool from my uni days have gone. But having been to the gigs at the SOL i am just amazed they didnt make money. Besides the money i do think it is good for the area to have the types of act playing that did at the stadium play in the region

There'll be loads of apologists for him saying that 'we don't know what he does, though', like they did with Short and Byrne before the extent of their car crash management became clear.

I know he is the commercial director. I know that our retail and commercial income is £2m a year. I know that this is the league table of commercial income in the Premier League for the 2014/15 season (the last year for which all clubs have filed accounts).

Manchester United - £197m
Manchester City - £173m
Liverpool - £116m
Chelsea - £113m
Arsenal - £79m
Tottenham - £60m
Newcastle - £25m
Aston Villa - £19m
Everton - £16m
West Ham - £15m
Swansea - £11m
Southampton - £10m
West Brom - £8m
QPR - £7m
Stoke City - £6m
Crystal Palace - £5m
Burnley - £3m
Leicester - £2.9m
Sunderland - £2m
Where have you got those figures from? Our commercia income was over £20m in the last accounts. About middle of the league.

And therein lies the reason a bar man from Hylton Red House gets a job at Wembley Stadium after becoming a figure of fun and derision as a director of a Premier League football club.

Smoke and mirrors.

Apparently so.

Weird one for Wembley. They already know SJM and Live Nation plus have relationships with Eddie Hearn, NFL etc. They could do with someone who can bring in new events if they need someone

He flirts regularly with pop promoters on social media.

What do the 1879 accounts actually show? The accounts say event management company with turnover derived from conference, banqueting and catering functions. Given the turnover is just short of £4m, surely that doesn't include what the club is receiving from the concerts? And will this include the match day corporates?

Unless the club are losing a fortune on the concerts (therefore ceasing is understandable), i can't help but think that sacking them off altogether is a massive kick in the teeth for the wider Sunderland economy.

Moyes wants home friendlies and the opportunity to have our first league game at home.
This has also had an effect on concerts.

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like your hair blowing in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
Until the gel set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did
It seems to me
You lived your life
Like A MAG

It's not about getting big crowds in. It's about the squad having the chance to play at The SOL, especially the new players, before the season starts.
It's valuing football over hosting gigs which don't actually make any money. The last few preseasons have been lacklustre at best
